Thinking about touring Asheville for the first time...

I've had some requests to visit Asheville lately.  I've always wanted to visit for personal reasons, the hobby has become another reason :)  It looks like I need to get my butt out there!

How are things as far as recovery from the flood? Are businesses up and running?

Are there any farm-to-table restaurants?  I prefer to use restaurants and businesses that are locally owned, big corporations do not need my support.  I prefer to support people.

Are there any local events that could be fun...farmer's markets, festivals, local music, etc.

Where are the best areas with clean, well-reviewed hotels to stay?  I prefer in or near nature spaces as I enjoy hiking, nature walks and wild harvesting food if I can find a clean area. I like to avoid busy areas such as busy malls surrounded by chain restaurants. I don't utilize these types of places and being near them just seems too busy. I'm not a big shopper.  I don't define myself by the tag on my clothes, I wouldn't know a Gucci bag from one bought at Target. I don't need that to look cute and sexy :)

How's Leo doing these days?

Which websites are you favorite?

Is there anything else I should know?

Thanks in advance!

They have definitely come a long way after the hurricane last year, and definitely need the tourism money. I'm in Charlotte but try to get up there every few weeks.
Tons of amazing restaurants that are local owned (it's quite the foodie town)
Always a farmer's market or small festival going on downtown on the weekends.
There are tons of great little boutique hotels downtown, and honestly you're not far from nature anywhere you stay

Thank you!  I have plans to be there real soon. I'm very much looking forward to it. It sounds amazing!

Yet  I have thought of visiting.
Also. Try charlotte if you go to Asheville!
Great men and couples here

Best of luck beautiful!
Safe travels
