To illicit responses from the Carolina's Board with limited success. It's just not a very active board although I wish that were otherwise. Please don't compare this to CL either....in my opinion we are far removed from that even though most of the threads are ads.

Do not compare this Adult board to CL. The only thing one should purchase on CL is furniture and garden supplies.

I must confess I have been spending way to much time on the general board. I find the topics engaging and by the time I hop over here I am visually spent, verbally written out and my knuckles hurt.

Right now my  eyes are burning from looking at the screen to long all ready.

I will try to be better about comming up with some topics for the carolinas.

For the most part, I enjoy this board. It has very little drama (such as the K-9 board has). I agree that it is a bit lacking in discussion. However, some boards on TER are  a bit too "chit chatty" for my tastes. I hate scrolling thru long threads on guys day dreaming of who or what they wanna see or do. I like things short and sweet.  

As far as your question concerning where a hobbyist looks for providers. I find TER quite helpful in helping me decide who I might see next. I usually check to see which ladies have new reviews. The search option on here is quite helpful. Sometimes a search brings up ladies that have great reviews that  I have never heard of before. Posts by providers helps to draw my attention, but I still depend on reviews as my #1 source for info. in determining who I want to see.  As far as providers websites, I like to check it out for pics and prices. I dont want to hear music or have to sit and wait for a website to load. For me, a simple website with pics, prices and schedule is all I need.

I use all three, the post for current info, the website for all the details, and the reviews to help make a decision.  For what it’s worth, my all time favorites all had less then 10 reviews each.  If we read between the lines, and do our research, we can find what were looking for.

I agree with DrD, some boards are too chatty --DC is one example -- but this board could use some more juice.

I start with ads, discussion board, website then reviews.  Ads tell me who's active and available.  Discussion board is where I find more established regulars.  Lastly I go to websites of my favorite providers if they did not have an ad.  Sometimes I reverse this order if I already know what I'm looking for.  

If something catchs my interest, I ALWAYS look at reviews.  ALWAYS.  And if I don't see a review, I'll ask the provider if she has one.  I've been burned too many times.  I will TOFTT on occassion.  But I'm mature enough now to walk away if the situation does not feel right to me.
