As I understand the strictest interpretation of the rules, a photo makes it an ad. An ad doesn't need to have a pic, but since guys are visual creatures, it's probably a smart thing to do. A provider may include her link into any (or every) reply that is on topic.
As with most things, the devil is in the details. Are the picture threads ads? Well, they certainly are marketing, but since everyone has a fair shot and they're kept to once or so per week, the benefits to the guys seem to outweigh the negative (making this just an ad board), so I look the other way towards them. If a lady repeatedly throws a "me too" post on every topic to get her website out there, that would be frowned upon.
The attached link provides a comprehensive list of hows and wheres of posting an ad.
My interpretation of those rules goes something like this...
If more than one ad shows up in your 7 day history, the new one won't see the light of day. I TRY to allow the 2nd one if the original will fall out of that history in a couple hours, but I can't promise that I'll notice.
Multiple postings within 7 days will almost always get you moderated.
If you post something with a picture and a link, I consider that an ad.
If anyone has questions, please post them here, since others will likely benefit from your thoughts.
I've noticed on all of the regional boards that not all ladies post a pic with their 7 day ad. I always thought a link back to a ladies website was what made a post an ad.
It seems that ladies could start a thread and post a link to their website all day long with that logic.
You ask for questions...not trying to "start" anything, lol
