Hey guys, I am coming to Raleigh for a little mini vacation the second week in November and wanted to gather opinions on if the Crabtree area was a pretty decent area to stay in? Probably going to schedule an outcall at a nicer hotel in that area while there also. I’m not overly familiar with Raleigh but on maps at least it looks like it would be a decent area with shops and restaurants around and such. Thanks for any insight and as always I appreciate the info!

The Mall is there but not much else.  I would recommend North Hills, upscale shopping area and tons of good restaurants.

I will look into North Hills now that you have said that. Thanks!

Crabtree is a large indoor mall with all the sort of shops typical to that type of deal.
There are also a multiplicity of good restaurants in and attached to the shopping area. A few popular chains like Brio’s , Cheescake factory ( ugh) and PF Chang’s etc..... . Plus there are some  upscale local eateries that are pretty darn good as well.

Nothing wrong with either North Hills or Crabtree. But don’t eliminate Crabtree on the basis of dining choices. That would be a mistake. Actually I think Crabtree offers more variety in shopping , drinking or eating.

But as the other poster said, it's essentially a shopping district.  If you want to go anywhere else you'd have to Uber or rent a car.  My favorite area of Raleigh is Glenwood Ave.  Can be a little crazy at night but there are several good food options and plenty of bars to bounce in and out of.

and has a wide variety of hotels. Restaurants range from super casual to quite nice.  And it's a VERY quick Uber from one of a my favs local restaurant wise if you won't have a car. It's what I called "upscale southern cuisine"! ;-)

The North Hills/Midtown area of Raleigh is delightful as well. I love both of these areas.
