There are plenty of great ladies that will work with you on various means of screening. Starting out by becoming a member on sites like TER, DateCheck, P411 can help assist in the screening process also. Good luck, be safe and happy hobbying.
You might want to sign up for a screening service like Preferred 411. Some providers can screen you as well but be ready to supply some personal information like employment details.

I considered a "newbie" someone who does not have previous references available for screening. Someone new to the hobby or just venturing into the online world or public online world of hobbying.
I offer alternative screening options though and if that doesn't work I am very friendly in helping direct a Gentleman to a lady close by who is "newbie" friendly.
I respect everyones choices for why they do or why they don't see "newbie" hobbyists or providers.

Meant it to be a question mark. Thanks for the kind response. As a newbie I do understand mutual respect and safety as well as her right to decide. Even after I am in the door. Good to know I wont be a newbie forever.
I'm not sure where you found her, but regular or not, you shouldn't have been stood up. A date is a date, after all! I visit Columbia almost every week for example to see a client. Many ladies like myself travel, they simply ask you book at least a certain length of date to cover the time and expense of traveling to you. The right lady will be happy to work with you as long as she can comfortably screen you. I'm very newbie friendly on a case by case basis, and I'm happy to work with guys on getting them in that proverbial front door and on their way to having fun in this hobby!
you'd be getting the best there is there! I've met her in person and she ROCKS!

Was the lady who stood you up listed on TER? No names, please. I've only had a semi-last minute postponement once with a lady with a good reputation here, and that was in a highly unusual situation for which I don't blame her.
Virtually every time I've had a less than great experience it has been with a Backpage girl who doesn't have a web site and isn't on TER. I've sworn off BP long ago. The fictitious reviews here should be taken with a large grain of salt, but if lots of reviewers are giving 8-10, you're probably good to go (or better). Someone with scores all over the place or consistently low should also tell you something.
The $75 for VIP status equals roughly 15 minutes with a good provider. It's a good investment.
LE stings usually occur off BP. I also was tired of the flakes and fakes and have stayed away from BP for a long time!

and after offending an absolutely stunning woman with my darn pride and ignorance, finally found another beauty who agreed to see me with just a phone call to my office. You see, I was very protective of my info but some of the nice folks here made me more comfortable. So the date's set soon and I look forward to building my status, not to mention a memorable experience. It took me a while to realize that a lady's safety is paramount even tbough I know l am .ot a serial killer. That's what I get for thinmkng with the little head. Luckily, the very first lady I booked a date with was a true professional and guided me properly. She took her time, never rushed, understood my nervous hesitation, and calmed me down in a way that only a true woman can. Talk about beginners luck! I thank my lucky stars every day for finding her.
That said, I think you're on the right track by posting here and just asking the question. Make sure you check out the newbie board. There is a lot of good information there. Questions that you may feel to shy to ask might have already been answered and things like that, ya never know. And I have to agree with another gentleman who posted previously. From what I gather reading some of the other regional boards, we have a fantastic state and tremendous group of ladies who provide outstanding services. What does it say for Carolina that the very first Ms. TER was picked from our region? We're in GREAT hands (or... well, you can use your imagination there gents!).

How difficult is it to start this hobby when you are new. I travel into Columbia sc often and would like to become a regular to someone. I've tried one provider who seems legit then on the day before a date she is nowhere to be found. No text , phone calls or emails returned... I'm guessing being a new guy she is cautious of me or I get bumped for one of her regulars???
Thought or recommendation for a newbie....recommendations for a provider that will take care of a nervous new guy!
P411 is also a good site and I was very fortunate to have a great provider refer me to it. I'd forget about the provider who stood you up. It shows a lack of respect ... and the same can be said about providers who show up late all the time. There are lots of ladies who are respectful of your time and provide great service. Take your pick.
I read advice about taking TER reviews with a grain of salt. Great advice. I let providers know that I don’t write reviews anymore. I’ve never been a fan of fiction. Pay the subscription fee, you’re better off.
