I recently saw this ad on CL http://raleigh.craigslist.org/ads/1366900276.html

and upon responding to the ad was e-mailed this link http://www.mainstreeterotica.com/escorts/amy/ to make the appointment. The verification link on the site takes to me to a sign-up page for online porn.

Is this a scam disguised as an escort ad? Some time ago a very enticing ad with pictures on CL led to similar results though I have yet to take the bait and give my CC# for anything

The best you'll get out of this is an unwanted membership to some site.  The worst you can do is someone hijacks your credit card number.  It's your call.  BTW similar ads are run on CL and Backpage.  They all have one line in common, "You must join XXXYYYY or you can't meet me" or similar words.

Yup, this is just another spin on a classic type of scam.  You really should shy away from CL now too.  Mostly scams that are left.
