Apparently, some low life hobbyist called a provider and told her he was me, CRTicas.  What this hobbyist failed to realize is that I dont review everyone and he assumed he would get by. This provider knew me and played along for fun but eventually denied him.  She called me to let me know and we laughed it off.  I am wondering how often this happens and is it something to be concerned about.  From my experience most professional providers would not just accept someones phone call as truth......am i way off base?

Accept a phone call as proof. I dont even give my number until screened. And NO ONE could be the great CRTicas! What an idiot to even try! You are the man! (bows down hehe)

Some lady posted on the canine board that I was a good guy, etc and I had never seen her.  Turned out that he used a slight variation of my board name, probably to avoid ref checks.  Glad he turned out to be an OK guy.

Sounds like there maybe needs to be an extra level of identification security possibly added.  Something like a 6-10 digit number that you and you alone supply to the provider in an email for verification.  The the provider accesses this site and through a link inputs to number in for id verification.  Just an idea.
