I am not beating on you per se. I wanted to try to get some open forum on this board for a change. The reason to leave it up is to challenge some others to partake in the discussion. The best way to make this board "alive" is to encourage more discussion. One whole the positive will outweigh the negative, but perchance it becomes a flaming session you have the right and in fact duty to step in and end it. How you do that is up to you but in the mean time working through this with intelligence will make this a better board.

Hope it cools off in Vegas soon.

Dear Mod (lil phil):

Yesterday you offered us the opportunity to act as mod for the day and vote to either keep a post up or take it down. You asked people to comment. We did. or as many as got the chance or cared to. A funny thing happened to that discussion....It went away and was replaced by a new version of the original post. Did we lose our voices? Was the discussion too bold for this board? Did someone say the wrong thing?

Why did you clean the post up and take all the discussion down? Since when did this become the free speech until our mod decides to edit and clean up? The discussion was healthy for this board lil phil. I should have been left up so that others will be more likely to participate. One of the reasons that this board is so dull is because of the continuing heavy handed manner in which it is moderated. If this is the way that the POWERS THAT BE have decided to run the board then why not let us know that "all discussion will be monitored and censored to provide milk toast content". That way we will at least know what the stage is set for.

I was honestly trying to give the original poster her opportunity to express herself back.  She posted, and I hijacked it.  Once the vote was made to keep it, I felt that she deserved to have it there without the banter.

If you'd like to create another healthy discussion, I'll gladly encourage it, and probably participate in it.  I DO appreciate anyone trying to shine up this board.

....posts not only need to meet and abide by TER rules and standards, which is absolutly needed and reasonable....but they need to meet your standards as well.  

What you consider 'worthless drivel' is your opinion.  Why should we be forced to share your opinion.  If someone is posting something that is not against TER rules is should be allowed to stay. If it's not of interest to someone, they can go onto the next post.  

I also don't think it was appropriate that you removed all the posts people made on Redhot's thread. It's as if you aren't allowing us a voice.

If you look through the Carolina threads, the majority of them are ads. Sometimes pages of them without break.  It's nice to get a little conversation in there.  Even if you think the content is 'worthless drivel', not everyone else agrees. Some do, some don't.  Variety is the spice of life.

I was trying to show respect to the original poster by not leaving the off topic discussion.  Sorry if you don't like that.

It wasn't removed for being worthless drivel.  In fact, it was one of few meaningful discussions that have been on this board.  Still, the original poster has a right to her post not being turned into a circus.  That's my call, and I stand by it.

You "cleaned" it up so Redhot's original post was what it should have been if it was going to remain...not everything else that pertained to whether it should stay up.

The it would have been hi jacked completely.

Bravo for putting it to the board and keeping it up in it's origianl foem!

I hate seeing threads get hijacked, and took the clean up under my post as trying to avoid that. (much appreciated xoxo) :-)

I also hate seeing good conversation removed though too... :-/  

lil phil was kinda stuck between a rock and a hard place on that one given the topic was under my thread.  In a perfect world, the topic could have been splintered off and moved to stand on it's own...but I'm not sure that it is even possible here.  None the less, it just makes a new opportunity for a new discussion regarding the issue...for anyone that wants to further explore the topic. ;-)

I certainly appreciated everyone's input, on both sides of the discussion.
