I hope to get out this afternoon for a hike Any Charlotte locals with info on this I usually do 5 miles in 90 mins Thanks Or if you care to join me π
I ended up strolling down Thomas Street to Belvedere and then to the miniature Haight-Asbury district on Central Avenue. I checked out all the shops, and ate lunch at Zada Janes
Nice strowl on Thomas, lots of sites and people to see. Also a stroll up commonwealth is great too. Down pecan is nice and turn down Shenadoah and come back up any of the side streets. Mainly renovated bungalows from the 30s-40s with huge oaks lining the streets. Places to eat or watch: Thomas street tavern is a cool place to be and watch people, especially outside when the weather is nice. Food is always good. Try Nova's backery also one block away from Jada Jones. Traditional European bake goods and also great pastrys and ok coffee, open 7-7, 7 days. Pizza peel, on Central also, is nice too, a big hockey hangout. What is really cool and more for the atmosphere is the Thristy Beaver on central at the rail road tracks. Biker bar that would not sell out to a condo developer and they wrapped the high rise condos around the bar. People just go because its cool. Never had any issues there. If you need to eat late, Landmark is a diner the other way on central ave a couple of miles, open 23hr 7 days. Decent food and lots of it, stick with the specials or breakfeast. Glad you enjoyed our Central ave!
