To all the guys and gals who have sacrificed to give me the freedoms I have.......

I CONCUR!!!!!!!

Shifterp OUT

Leaving the chow hall, at the end of day, I had to elbow my way thru the ungrateful slugs standing just inside the door to get outside. I timed my departure each day to hit the outside just as Old Glory was being retired for the night, and I PROUDLY stood at attention and saluted those having worn the uniform and who  had gone before me, many giving  their all to preserve my right to walk this earth in freedom.
So, touch your heart today, whenever you see that flag that is still flying and as a reminder of those who gave you the freedom to walk around and breathe the sweet sweet air of a free man/woman.
Say a lil prayer for those now wearing the uniform (my boy) who carry on with the business of keeping our right to walk upright and not be forced to silence our voices, or take to our knees by force of others.
AND be thankful for the ladies on this board, who take advantage of  that freedom to dance with us guys:-)

I'm flying my colors today.
Tomorrow I am going to kiss a Vet
I think besides being a Mom and raising 4 kids, being a Veteran and serving my country gives me the most pride.
I honor and salute the Veterans for their service.

Forget about that and focus on what really matters, the men and woman who risked their lives for our freedom! Happy Veterans Day

xoxo Miss America

To all those who served and have given so much, and to those who serve today,
We Say THANK YOU and we will always REMEMBER YOU.
And to ALL the FAMILIES  who have given their CHILDREN, so we can be FREE
THANK YOU
We are free to choose, because YOU CHOOSE TO SERVE

who have sacrificed soooooo much for our Country. We Salute ALL of you!!!

I grew up in the military and know first hand the sacrifice military members make. Thank you!

You know, I want to salute Addison.  Cause the families sacrifice so much, so often.  Being moved and leaving friends.   A parent being gone for 13 months at a time, for us USAF and Army types.  And the Navy and Marines on long deployments.  The children sacrifice a lot, so I salute you Addison. And any other dependent of a service person.

We did move ALOT as children...but I saw so many things overseas most people dream of seeing...and got the honor of seeing my dad receive a Purple Heart Award...and make so many friends all over the world. My childrens dad is in the Navy so they know well the sacrifices. But in the end it is all worth it to be free :)

1. This is my rifle. There are many like it, but this one is mine.

2. My rifle is my best friend. It is my life. I must master it as I must master my life.

3. My rifle, without me, is useless. Without my rifle, I am useless. I must fire my rifle true. I must shoot straighter than my enemy who is trying to kill me. I must shoot him before he shoots me. I will …

4. My rifle and myself know that what counts in this war is not the rounds we fire, the noise of our burst, nor the smoke we make. We know that it is the hits that count. We will hit….

5. My rifle is human, even as I, because it is my life. Thus, I will learn it as a brother. I will learn its weaknesses, its strength, its parts, its accessories, its sights and its barrel. I will ever guard it against the ravages of weather and damage as I will ever guard my legs, my arms, my eyes and my heart against damage. I will keep my rifle clean and ready. We will become part of each other. We will ….

6. Before God, I swear this creed. My rifle and myself are the defenders of my country. We are the masters of our enemy. We are the saviors of my life.

7. So be it, until victory is America's and there is no enemy, but peace!!

I am proud to be a United States Coast Guardsman.

I revere that long line of expert seamen who by their devotion to duty and sacrifice of self have made it possible for me to be a member of a service honored and respected, in peace and in war, throughout the world.

I never, by word or deed, will bring reproach upon the fair name of my service, nor permit others to do so unchallenged.

I will cheerfully and willingly obey all lawful orders.

I will always be on time to relieve, and shall endeavor to do more, rather than less, than my share.

I will always be at my station, alert and attending to my duties.

I shall, so far as I am able, bring to my seniors solutions, not problems.

I shall live joyously, but always with due regard for the rights and privileges of others.

I shall endeavor to be a model citizen in the community in which I live.

I shall sell life dearly to an enemy of my country, but give it freely to rescue those in peril.

With God's help, I shall endeavor to be one of His noblest Works...

Today we remember those who have served and are currently serving to keep our country free.

Today, let us not forget those who make a greater sacrifice than any we could ever make.

To the Mothers, Fathers, Wives and Children of those protecting us we offer our deepest Thanks.

May God protect those you love and return them safely to your arms.

Your Post touched my heart as a Proud Mother of a Marine
Thank you!
