Eclipse chasing to Charleston

Headed to Charleston this weekend to for my last full eclipse experience.
Sorry I won't be able to enjoy the hospitality of the ladies ( this trip ). But would like some advice from a few " in the know " locals.

Any recommendations as to the best place to view the solar event ? I'll be in the historic district. And I fear it's probably too late to make a reservation for some of the roof top parties.
Any insights will be appreciated.
Wouldn't mind a few suggestions for some culinary must do as well. Especially oyster/seafood joints .

Thanks to all

But of course instead of going ahead and booking a room a few months ago, I was lazy and put if off thinking it was no big deal. Now everything's sold out lol. Crazy. I don't eat oysters but I've had breakfast several times at Early Bird Diner and it was delicious every time!

Even by early March my first couple choices were no longer available.
Gee , Gabby , I'd invite you to stay with us. Just not sure how we'd explain that one to Mrs STP :)

I think the event here in Charlotte is going to be just as good. We really are not that far off the path so fear not housekeeping :)
