It's a really cute movie. Her parents were the coolest ever.

I worked with a young - rather unattractive - woman (at a university) who wore no make-up, army-style boots and very frumpy clothes.  She suddenly took two weeks off and came back looking like she was always ready for a date at a hot club.  She really did transform herself and she did look pretty hot - especially to those of us who were accustomed to her other style.  Yeah, she got a lot of attention and lots of rumors flew about how this happened.  (One rumor was that she lost her virginity to some a guy with a reputation for being a stud and it transformed her.  It was probably started by the guy with the reputation!)  

While her dress certainly improved and gave us a lot to talk about - I don't think her dating behavior really changed because I got to know her via work a bit later (I was married at the time) and it did not seem like she had a wild and crazy social life  - but it did land her a husband about two years later.
