Not sure this is practical on a public board but here goes.
As you probably know I moved from the rather fertile hobby grounds around Boston, plenty of location choices. Obviously Massachusetts is a fairly small state, Boston and surrounding area is a highly technological, highly populated areas. So finding someone was extremely easy.
I have noticed that in the N. Carolina the big cities are the central area for business (RDU, CLT, AVL), but it seems to me there are large swaths of areas that could be utilized. Not naming any specific places, just general area - sandhills (golfers, vacationers, military etc...), barrier isles (vacationers)). That's just in the eastern part of the state.
Is it just that there is no real call for biz in these areas, is it too 'hot'?

Some ladies to travel to the coast from time to time. Unfortunately if you want to see most of the popular local ladies or a touring lady, you're going to have to make the drive.
There are exceptions of course, but the areas mentioned in your post are just too much of a gamble for most ladies. The coastal area does attract some of the ladies to tour there, but it's like rolling the dice there as well.
Funny thing is, I've found in the NE the gentlemen will drive 45 minutes to an hour to see a lady thay are interested in meeting. A "commute" up there seems to be a greater distance than down here. I've had gentlemen drive an hour or more to see me when I'm in DC, or Boston. That's doesn't happen here.
Very true! For me I had 1,000 excuses to be gone for a few hours when I lived up in Boston. So driving 60 minutes wasn't that bad. My excuses revolved around work and friends. Since I moved down here and I work at the office of my company, I can't use work as an excuse and since I have not made any 'friends' down here I can't usethat either. Up in Boston I had several "hobby" friends that my wife knew about (she knew they were friends that I went to lunch with, she didn't know about the hobby). So I could just say I was going to lunch with 'so and so' and she was fine with that. Worse case scenario she could always talk to him to confirm if she needed (which she never did).
I was more curious why there was so little activity in the areas mentioned. Just not enough biz or otherwise.
Just wanted to make conversation and thought that might bring some ppl out to chat.
I have no such luxury down here, yet. so I have to stay close to home.
