Could it have been housekeeping? eom

END OF MESSAGE

I recently hosted incall at a local 3-star hotel in Western NC. I did not spend the night there. I returned the next morning several hours before check-out time. I was shocked to find evidence that someone had been in my room. It was subtle, but several things were NOT as I had left them.

I got a very bad vibe, cancelled my morning appointment, and got the heck out of there.

Any thoughts? Should I be worried?

If not, could it be that housekeeping thought you had already left, then they realized their mistake after seeing your stuff...???

I leave my DND sign up whenever I leave my room unless I WANT housekeeping.

Bad omen # 1 - when I returned to the room the following morning, my key card did not work. I've had this happen before at other hotels and they promptly clear it up, as did this hotel. So I thought little of it.

Bad omen # 2 - I had moved the telephone from the side table to the floor. Also, I always light several jar candles when I'm there. When I snuff them out, I cover them with something so the room doesn't smell like smoke. When I returned to my room, the phone had been placed back on the table and the candles were no longer covered.

Bad omen # 3 - my massage oil was missing. This wasn't the cheap stuff either. It was a sizable bottle of lightly scented massage oil.

Yes, it absolutely "could" have been housekeeping, but the sheer number of these coincidental events just spooked me. And I did NOT have the Do Not Disturb sign hanging while I was gone -- something I definitely WILL do in the future!

If anyone else has any thoughts, please feel freet o PM me or just comment here.

Thanks!!
