Technically they are. They are all christians, or so they claim. Their music is influenced by their faith but they are more alternative than Christian in their music.
technically they are not. Yes, they themselves are Christians. But a "Christian band" is one who's music is focuses on Christianity. Not simply a band made up of Christians. If you read any interviews with them, they'll say that they are not a Christian band. They'll acknowledge that Christianity, faith, and religion do appear in some of their songs, but not all. Meaning, it's a big part of their life, so yeah it's there every once in a while. But they do not make "Christian music."
And the singer's life before this band and before she "found Christ" was far from the typical "middle-class, Christian white girl."
That being said, they're just a pop band that has come along, and will go soon enough. I do like her voice though.
Flyleaf is my 15-year-old daughter's favorite group, and they are most certainly NOT a Christian band. Anyone who knows the difference can see that.
We'll be taking my daughter to her very first concert in February to see Flyleaf open for some other group (3 Days Grace?). I'll be feeling very old very quickly.
