I have been in that position actually a couple of times. One beautiful lady had one breast removed and it was not a big deal. The other beautiful lady had both removed and reconstructed. I was more worried about how they felt than anything else. They were still beautiful both outside and inside. It all worked out great and happily they are both still healthy. And yes, you are correct there are a lot of other ways to be fulfilled sexually. It's just coming to terms with it. True also is that society places way too much emphasis on what I call artificial looks. (i.e teeth so white that they glow, hair that's supposed to glisten like silk, perfect skin, eyes that have contacts to make them another color, you have to weigh "X" amount) That's all BS. I love women of all kinds. But..that's just me.
After 10 or 20 or 30 years, a mastectomy is no deal-breaker from my point of view, if you have a decent relationship with your SO. Probably more important is her own body image. That can be crippling and ruinous to a relationship. Have a bit of experience with that over many years.
I just got through a prostate cancer scare myself, and can tell you for true that I was a basket case. Just found out last night that the biopsies came back benign (no cancer, just normal enlargement). Before I got the good news, it made me think a LOT about my image of myself as a man and how much havoc might be wreaked by bad news biopsy result. I woke up at 2:00 a.m. on many nights in very dark emotional places and stayed there until it was time to get up. You're right about men not being equipped to handle health issues, especially from the emotional side. I'm a health professional and know all the medical (physical) stuff, but it takes a personal tap on the shoulder to understand the psychological impacts. And that's on a part that doesn't even show. The self-esteem issues post-mastectomy must be enormous. Got to share my good news in a very personal way with my regular today and celebrate in a special way. )
If she hasn't had the surgery yet get her to ask about reconstruction at the same time. On procedure, one period of pain and healing. Is she close to Clt? Of the people that have breast cancer it kills more men than women because we don't check for it.
Lost a good person in my town due to a recurrence of breast cancer. His second time it got to his bones.
I worked with a lsdy who had a breast removed and then reconstructed due to cancer and her attitude was so inspiring, and she was so lovely with a smile that would light up a room, that I would have pleasured her on the steps of cit;y hall and given the crowd 3 days to gather for the show. When she wore a wig for a while, she was still one of the loveliest women I've ever known. Breasts and hair sre wonderful, but when you look into a lady's eyes, that's when true eroticism comes into play.
I see someone for who they are as a person. A smoking hot woman with no soul is a waste of time, whereas a woman with a heart glows and has a beauty that overpowers everything else!
I like to refer to them as "women of all FLAVORS," i .e those who were dipped in chocolate, vanilla, brown sugar, lemon, and strawberry flavors at birth;P~~~
