Just dropped off my oldest at college for the first time.  They say time flies, and I never appreciated it that when younger.  Damn, I feel old today.  Could use some TLC.
A Vesper Martini and Ray Charles will have to suffice tonight.

No one appreciates that time flies when they are younger.  When you're young, you think you'll live forever.  Heck, you even feel like you will live forever.  Then suddenly reality starts to dawn on you.  :-)  The good thing about getting older is the wisdom and maturity.  Things that used to seem so important can now be cast to the wind for the unimportant things they really are.  Would I trade my body for the one I had 20 years ago?  In a heartbeat.  But that would be all.  So much about life is easier now.

I'm guessing you are around 40.  As long as seniors still refer to you as "kid", you're good.  As long as you don't qualify for early bird specials, you're good.  As long as you don't have your AARP card, you're good... although their insurance rates are unbeatable, so you might look forward to that!  ;-)

I'm late forties.  Funny how these life events make you stop and reassess where you are, where you thought you'd be, and do you have time to be somewhere or someone else.

There are lots of parents who wish they could make this statement. Your daughter is very fortune to have you as a parent. Give yourself a pat on the back for a job WELL DONE !!  do not be suprise if you hear from her  (homesick) many times over the next few weeks/months.
