Much,much before computers and the internet, reporters ended their their wire transmissions with "EOT", meaning "End of Transmission".
Thought you might be interested in some more trivia.
BTW, the printed paper on which the transmitted copy was printed, was called a "tear sheet".

OXYGEN, your knowledge is great! I wish I knew little things like that. I don't follow over half of people's posts because I'm not real "up" on the computer lingo of abbreviations. You should hear what I THINK some initials mean!! LOL (I just learned what that meant!!!)

You've heard people say those were POSH accomodations, or a really POSH resort, meaning the finest or really luxorious.

Well back in the old days when steamers sailed from the UK to India, the best staterooms were on the portside outbound, and the starboardside homewardbound, so their tickets were stamped P.O.S.H. eventually shortened to posh.

Betcha didn't know that.
