If you are looking for a quickie looks are more important I suppose, but regardless of the length of the encounter some level of connection is desired.  I've been with some women who are less attractive and had a great time and been with very attractive women and had a less than stellar time.
Some women complain about bad reviews because it could affect their business, while others are genuinely hurt because they felt they honestly tried to show the man a good time.  Many really have feelings because they are people, you know.  
You are correct that some providers alter their pictures, or use other women's photos.  Like any business the are some who cheat their customers.  But many do not.
Use reviews, word of mouth, communication with providers, and experience to try and help you find a good provider.
