I absolutely agree with Charlotte.
Knowing that a client is safe and respectful makes for a more relaxed and fun date... for BOTH parties involved. I'm always surprised when potential clients balk at providing references. I can't help wondering what they might be hiding. I'm also surprised that clients think companions might have a problem with the fact that they are seeing other women. Trust me, I'm not concerned whatsoever, and I'm more than happy to provide recommendations for companions and references for clients. Sexual freedom, exploration and experience is what it is about for me. And the safer I feel, the freer I can be to explore and provide experiences for my clients. And yes, I do screen - and it is one reason why I prefer being independent rather than working with an agency. I have control over who I see and have a better understanding of the experience they are looking for. xoxo CharleyJust returned from a 3 day trip to Toronto. What a place. It is legal and an open book. No P411, no date checks, no references and no white lists. All they need is name and telephone #, then it is your place(incall) or mine(outcall). I had the best experience getting a NURU massage (my reviews going up in a day or two) and probably would go back just for that amazing experience. Alas! These things will never happen in this country.
All countries are not made equal, wonder why?
I wanted to do a tour to upstate New York. I was going to do Albany, Rochester, Buffalo and was going to take a train to Toronto. I think I'm going to have to go for it!!!
It's great that it's legal up there. I've definitely been interested in checking it out. They really don't screen?...not even for safety? That's what sounds a little unusual to me.
We use references, p411 and date-check here, just like in the US. Agencies are a bit more relaxed when it comes to screening, with usually only a name and cell in order to book. But if you take a peek at any of the indie ads on the ad board, almost every girl screens with references, p411, date-check or other screening methods.
I concur. I had the same experience during my trip to the queen city

I do believe most screen....see Toronto, Montreal, & Vancouver ad boards on TER.
Sounds to me like you still need to be very discreete, regardless......by both parties.
Maybe some Canadian ladies or those that tour their will see this thread & add their true experiences to this thread.
GM. Honestly the only thing they asked me was where I was staying and the last name of the hotel registration. They called the hotel and got to my room. As for NURU at Steeles Royal not a thing. Just my name and what time I would like to be at their place and the name of the lady I want to see.
Back in 1996 a woman challenged the law saying if men can go topless, so should women...and she won.
Wish the US would stop being so backwards and be more progressive like Canada & other European countries....
Time for a road trip...LOL
In US too, women can go around topless...at least in NYC its not breaking law, I have seen plenty.
Having spent many summers in Canada I can personally attest to a FAR MORE OPEN acceptance of our hobby there. Because NO ONE is concerned about LEO everyone just takes complete sexual freedom for granted...no muss, no fuss is the rule of the day.....it really is quite liberating and refreshing !! ....and the same holds true for most European countries as well.
On a relative basis the good ol US of A is still living in the Dark Ages.
Could not have said it better!
Having just relocated here from Australia, where screening or reference checking is completely unheard of, and even high end companions wouldn't imagine requesting it, I can assure you that walking into a date knowing that the gentleman you are going to meet is safe, well mannered and respectful is a completely different experience.
No awkwardness, no wondering if the client might be in fact a rude aggressive individual...I started screening just before I moved to Canada, and only international visitors agreed to my new policy and booked, which was absolutely fine with me.
I don't think it unfair to ask for references: personally, I wouldn't see someone that chose to skip screening..

Charlotte

Whenever I visit Canada, I work with mostly big agencies and never had any screening. The scoop is there are some indicators they follow. All they have done is to get my last name under which the room is registered. Then they call the hotel and ask for my last name to confirm I am the person who called and also get the room number. Usually the girls are driven to the hotels / residences. The girls I met at my hotel, the first thing they did was to call their agency and confirm everything is OK. They also said they call their driver and the agency before they go inside for the meeting. The driver / agency stays in touch with them and another call when the meeting is over. As for the massage spas in Toronto, I just either call ahead or walk in.
I will never / ever see an independent provider no matter how great she is and no matter how great her reviews are. Most of their pictures are fake, they are not the person and once paid, I am at their mercy. Who to complain? Believe me I have gotten refunds from agencies after complaints about their girls in the past. (Executive Choice & Select)
Yes, checking the client's name through their hotel is one way that independent escorts screen as well.
Regarding independent companions: that is quite a damning statement, and definitely not true of any of the independently working escorts that I am familiar with.
I understand that booking with agencies can sometimes be easier - and you can book last minute - which makes it a convenient option for some.
But your reasoning for not booking Indy girls is simply false, at least of any of the established independent companions that i know in Toronto.
Perhaps it is more common in the US. Yet another reason to come to Toronto!

Not sure about fake pictures and complaining to get free stuff. However I totally agree that booking with indies are a pain, and not worth it.
I only needed provide a first name and phone # for each session I booked (all incall).
I saw three agency girls and one indy who was just starting her own agency. not sure why she didn't screen me...but, I'd fully expect Indy's to screen and some I've been in contact with planning my next trip do require it.
Having said that..I agree with everyone here..Toronto was a blast! Not only a really nice city...easy to get around via many methods...good food options...
The hobby is a pleasure to pursue up there. I still had a bit of apprehension walking into my first session (ever) when I was there last November. But, once the door closed...it was gone immediately. Great experience and tons of fun!!
Avoid the escorts that charge more then 400 dollars and hour. They screen, and ask you invasive questions about your work and life, and try to avoid seeing "races" they don't like (I'm brown). I tried to book a 1,000 dollar lady, and she made me pay for a hotel room and didn't show up. Another tried to charge me a 100 dollar fee, even though I met her before and tipped her 100 dollars. These "rich girls" and very stuck up and greedy, and screen, even though escorting is mostly safe. Stick to agencies. Those girls may not be supermodels, but at least they are friendly.
To each their own, I guess. I have only seen elite indy ladies and have never had such an experience. I actually appreciate a few emails back and forth, as part of the screening process, to allow personality to be gleaned and feel like I am not being introduced to a complete stranger when our date begins. I think more ladies should screen and too few are too lax about this given the potential for danger out there. Safety should be priority #1, 2 and 3 an I have no issues with accommodating this priority. Nothing to hide for me
I can't imagine not verifying someone before meeting. I would be way too nervous otherwise...
I know this thread is old but ... Two years ago I retired but from 2006 - 2011 I did business in Toronto about 6 times a year and would see a few girls on each trip (about 60 or so calls - over that time ) . I used almost every agency and many indy's .Almost all calls to my hotel . I was NEVER asked for , what is called in the U S verification . Hotel and room number that was it ; the same in Niagara Falls . The BIG differences are 1) legal in Canada and 2) In Canada it is about the client and customer service .
