Most people in Vancouver B.C. I believe use that PERB (Pacific Escort Review Board) In my opinion that site is not that good, but you will see a review on someone almost always.

I agree that it would be nice to have a more active Vancouver board.

I believe that all of your possible reasons are to some extent true.  Locally there is the PERB board, which is quite active, and likely takes a good precentage of the online participants.  There is also  thereviewboard.net which is mainly Seattle, but does include Vancouver.

The hobby community on PERB appears to be dominated by a small group of people, though I assume that there are a huge number of lurkers.  That of course is a completly unscientifically validated statement, since the sample I am basing that comment on is by no means random.  It is based on my regular cliental (most of whom view PERB several times a week to assess what is happening in the community - though only one of the gents has ever posted himself).  The consensus seems to be that there is too much bantering and flaming going on to want to be a part of that online community, though there is some valuable information available.  Perhaps more activiy on this regional board will cause a snowball effect in drawing some lurkers here, and possibly bringing them out of hiding.  After all, the quality of discussion on TER is much better.  It is just not active in this region.

I'm not sure as to how many ladies are inclined to 'promote' themselves online, so I will just give you my personal opinion. I don't think I have ever added a link to my reviews or website on any of the posts I have made.  For me this is not a marketing strategy.  I love these boards for helping me feel connected with the other ladies.  It's wonderful to hear their opinions, stories and ideas.  I feel supported and understood in a way that my family, friends and even close clients are unable to fill.  After all, many of the situations, joys, fears and problems which we encounter are quite unique to our profession.

I imagine that the most probable way to increase traffic here would be to get a few local ladies to begin posting.  I'm sure that the gents would follow up soon after.
