Let see if we can get more people to this forum. It is better for everyone to be part of this forum, especially over sites like the PERB. Let our numbers grow in 2004.

When I started moderating TER's Canadian boards, (Montreal, Toronto and Vancouver) I asked for input/opinions as to why these boards aren't more active. The consensus seems to be that local hobbyists come to TER to read reviews but use other boards to communicate with each other.

IMHO, TER reviews have more value if you know the reviewer. By participating in this board community, I expect that the local hobbyists will find it easier to determine which are the more valuable reviews.

As far as the ladies posting here? By regularly posting your schedule, (once a week) you'll find your phone ringing a lot more. It's happened in every other TER region with an active board. Why not here?

Happy New Year everyone!

I see what you mean about the Canadian TER spending limited time here and going probably to their local boards. However, I cannot speak for Montreal or Toronto, but on the PERB of Vancouver I know for a fact that they have lost several of their registered members from participating due to things like: Member bashing each other, threats but probably most of all is that their moderators really IMHO abuse their athority and run it a times like a Nazi dictatorship. They even refuse to answer a fellow membrs e-mail so they can defend themselves if say they were accused of a wrong doing. The PERB may show a lot of members registered, but many of them have not participated like they used to or not at all. I can tell by looking at the names that have not posted in a while. It appears to be dominated at this time by a few members but they do have a lot of viewers that are nonmembers. I just wish that those nonmembers and he old active ones wh are just fed up with the PERBs bull come join our forum for discussions and reviews.

A similar thing happened in Boston in the past. Another board dominated the local hobby scene. This board was controlled by a few members. When it became clear to local hobbyists that they could speak freely at TER, the hobbyists made the switch. It also helps when the ladies begin posting here. Over the next few months, I WILL make that happen. ;)

the n00by's experience is there's PLENTY of information/ websites etc. available for Vancouver (as opposed to Seattle) and the only suggestion I can make is to ask the well-reviewed providers to join in the discussion.

This is the best for Vancouver if they use it, PERB on the otherhand sucks royal.

Well the action seems to be similarly slow at PERB. You have a far more comprehensive listing of reviews here. But straight up the discussion forums are a little awkward. much more. clicking involved here. people don't like to click. So there are some good points and some bad points. I just like to mingle everywhere.
