It is legal to trade sex for money in Canada. However, it cannot be done in a way that takes on the form of an organized and sustained business, which would then make this activity illegal. Consequently, it would wise for you in your advertising not to make any explicit or implicit references to offering any kind of sexual favors or gratification in exchange for monetary compensation.

As others have stated, the applicable laws have gone largely unenforced. It does not mean that one day that the powers that be may not decide to crack down on acts between consenting adults for political gain or to avoid presenting an embarrassing image of the community. Be careful.

Here's the dirt. There is no direct law prohibiting "the sex trade" in and of itself. There are just laws around it. COMMUNICATION FOR THE PURPOSES OF... is illegal (talk about exchange of services for $$$) OPERATING A BAWDY HOUSE (Incall is illegal (however there is a recent by-law within the confines of Vancouver city that challenges that)). LIVING OFF THE AVAILS OF ... (pimping) OBSTRUCTION OF TRAFFIC FOR THE PURPOSES OF... (street level). And well if the city is collecting $$$ for licenses from escorts, escort agencies, and Massage parlours, they will turn a bit more of a blind eye to things.
