They say overcleaning, for example especially with little kids, prevents the building of immunity. Icky? Perhaps. Dangerous? No. Also, do the same test in all rooms of your own home, I bet you'd be surprised by the results.

And I'm a tidy guy. I like clean. But I also like nice. Count me in on 5-stars

A pretty exhaustive and (revoltingly) detailed study has found that Three Star Hotels tend to be far cleaner (bacteria, yeasts, of the harmful germs variety) than Four & Five Star Hotels. Many facts (and theories as to the reasons causing this) are in the study.

One example only:

Average bacteria found per square inch on bathroom counters:
Home = 452 bacteria per square inch (452 CFU ... Colony Forming Units)
3-Star Hotel =   320,007 CFU per square inch
4-Star Hotel = 2,534,773 CFU per square inch
5-Star Hotel = 1,011,670 CFU per square inch

Long article about the study:

I saw a special on tv once about 4 &5 star hotels . they brought in special lights to see " what " was on blankets , walls, etc .
Enough to make one not wanna stay in a hotel ! But we all need them! Lol
They don't clean bed spreads, don't wash furniture, and some bathroom counters are not wiped .
Always bring antibacterial wipes, don't touch the tv remote , and take the bed spread of the bed before getting naked

Nice smelling almond vanilla. Wash my hands to warm them up.
No towels, thank you.

Thanks for sharing that lesson, Vanessa.
