Hello everyone, I usually do not vent on public boards, but I will have to this morning. I am Phaedra Porter, well known provider under the radar. ( I do have reviews on this board)  As I am sitting in my pajamas catching up on the latest news on CNN, I take a sip of my coffee and one of my clients here in Raleigh has informed me of someone using my pictures on Backpage. Hmmmmmm, here we go again, for just two weeks ago someone uses my pictures in Virginia, and a client of mine in Virginia was nice enough to let me know. Now at first, I took it as a compliment, as both of their ads stated: pictures are 100% me and recent? Give me a break! aaahhh

For some reason though, there is never an email to reply to, just a number, and when you call the number ( Hell yes I have called) it just rings, no one ever answers and then it will say "You have reached a voice mail box that has not been set up yet, or "You have reached the voicemail of 000-000-0000. This is what I heard on the last post. I have caught so many girls using my pictures and claiming to be elite and upscale like myself? Okay, so what are your thoughts TER? I don't want to put my name on my pictures, because I don't like the way it looks, but why have I been targeted the last 3 months over 5 times?  I think that I do have nice pictures, but they are not that nice to have been attacked like I have been the past few months. So guys if you see my picture anywhere and there is no email and/or no site, it is definitely NOT MOI! I always post my email and site, always. Guess to make matters even worse, these girls are under $100, Sweet Baby Jesus, I think I am about to faint...lol...What gives, Im making another pot of coffee.... Has anyone else been going through this lately? Any advice?

THEN TO MAKE MATTERS EVEN WORSE, I FORGOT TO MENTION THE FACT THAT IN THE AD, EVERY SINGLE PHOTO IS ME? DAMN I AM USED TO ONE OR TWO BEING USED, BUT ALL FOUR?

THE NUMBER SHE USES TO ADVERTISE: 4014979803

It seems to be the only effective way to prevent photo theft.

By the way, this post should be on a local board, not an ad board.

Have several guys call for appointment and NCNS her all weekend.  Scammers don't screen.

When she calls back (waiting for the client to show up) then you can lecture/scold her about stealing pictures.  Ha ha!!

lol sorry I had to laugh, that's mean.. lol.. I really couldn't do that, I guess I will just have to take the loss and get my pictures watermarked. Just know Boston that is not me because I will be touring in Cambridge soon. *wink* What a nightmare this has been.. Oh well, Happy New Year Boston...

....but it's a sad reality.
Hell a girl stole 2 of my older pics though that had my name and TER number on it for 6 few wks working out of places in NJ & NY I've never been myself. A hobbyist familiar with me alerted me about her. I had traced the number and she'd been using different names and pics but went out of her way when she stole my pics to change her name to Mocha basically trying to claim entire identity.

So.....I don't like having a name or email or TER ID plastered on my pics but there are some lazy and scandalous chicks out here who are too lazy to get either a digital camera or pay a photographer to have their own own pictures taken.

even then, they'll still steal them sometimes and try to remove it, crop it out, or just cover it.

Also, be sure to send backpage (or any other site you find them on) a DMCA Copyright Violation Notice (you can find the proper format online). Once a webmaster receives a properly formatted DMCA takedown notice, they will act quickly. I've had stolen images removed from backpage in under 10 minutes.

So sorry you're going through this. It's crazy how these girls have no dignity and no integrity now. They've ruined the business and now have proceeded to ruin reputations by posing as true providers.
Something has got to give. GOOD QUALITY SEEMS TO BE GONE ON BOTH ENDS, PROVIDER AND CLIENTELE. WATERMARK your photos or if they're posted on your personal site, sometimes there is a way to program it so that your photos cannot be "right-clicked". Look into it. If I find more info I will post for you.

Because there are a lot of insane women in the business and a lot of pimps.

Play games or try to prove you're more clever than they are and you just may catch a case - there are a lot of people with too much time on their hands and too little to lose.
Even if you are technically in the right you'll lose far more than you wish to dealing with someone who has set their sights on you because you've taken time out of your day to get smart with them.

As several others have now said - watermark your images.  It doesn't have to be unattractive or distracting.

But you're brown and you're curvy, there are plenty of unscrupulous girls who fit that description and have no qualms about borrowing your image or your words.  We all deal with it from time to time.

Good luck Ms. Phaedra!

Kisses,
Ally :)

Adobe Flash is one way to present your photos that way. But then you have to exclude the riffraff who use non-Windows  computers to view your site. If you've put up enough barriers to looking at your photos, your clientele will consist of computer power users -- hope you like their company.

and of course computer power users will have no problem getting your pics anyway... Since in order for your images to be seen, they must be sent to the viewer's computer in some way, and therefore there will always be some way to save them for offline viewing. This also applies to streaming video by the way (ie skype, webcams, or any other form of video chatting).

The best you can hope for is to create obstacles that will stop the average person from downloading and saving your images/video. None of which will apply to any images used for ads, since being on another website they're beyond your control. Which is why watermarking is the best option to hinder those who are less than scrupulous.

Octovert points out one of the more solid ways at protecting. Flash is harder to steal photos from, but not impossible.  Unfortunately Nelly, the right click disabling is not as strong as it it use to be. Many images can simply be dragged to a new tab and easily saved from there. There are also extensions for some browsers that override the "Right Click Disabled" coding.   And then there is always the low tech screen grab theft.  Watermarks are the surest way to protect your images. It may not keep them from being stolen, but it makes it harder for someone to claim they are legit.
I can't believe the audacity of someone actually trying to assume Mocha's identity like she described.
It's sad.
