Since many of us are traveling and looking for something to break up our time. I thought I'd start this thread here after reading  Charlotte's. I love antiquing, neat old architectural salvage shops, the strange house with 200 flamingos in the yard. I'm the person that will drive by stop and take a photo because it just tickles me and makes me smile a little. In addition to many gorgeous historical places what else do you suggest? Just for the fun factor?

A supposedly haunted hotel?

There is a woman in MA with some 4 dozen of those bouncy ponies in her front yard, unfortunately I don't have a picture of it. I guess she used to repaint them every year. Seeing it makes your eyes go boing!

The best non-touristy place to dig for antiques without getting gouged?

Is there a yard sale heaven here in New England?

And where might this little treasure be?

Have you been to the Cryptozoological Museum up in Portland Me? It's cute, curious and fun.
