I know that many on TER steer totally clear of Backpage, but for those of you who occasionally look over there the new thing is tons of ads with just a phone number. It seems to be all cities (not just Boston). Does anyone know what's up with that? It seems just like a bunch of spam...
It's now required to have a physical phone # so burner apps aren't being accepted , if you try a burner app number to post an ad it rejects it . This way a P or scammer can't post 10 ads w 10 different burner numbers . It also eliminates their liability in condoning acts when some girls post explicit things . BP in the North East is just in my eyes of what they call a SNATH thread in the South ( short notice availability thread ) Theres fake ads on every board . I'd say more were on a very pricy board that was recently busted but if you screen it doesn't matter where you got the number . Take care love
I would never post my hooker phone on any ad, I simply added a google voice to my BP ads
the only real issues is not allowed to post email address or text words on the ads. I make my own post-its and use them as pictures
BP will be out of business by the spring as their paid ad section was where they made their money.
With how they require things to be now, I can see the women migrating to other places as it is not convenient for them anymore. I would peruse there sometimes, now with the new format I will not bother anymore as it is much more difficult and pretty much useless.
I see your perspective but people say the same thing about any board that changes its format and or rules . A year ago BP made it to where you could only pay for ads in bitcoins or mail in a check bc Visa and MC cut ties . If that didn't flush providers to geeener pastures I don't know what else would . The greener pastures are already used . Girls and clients weren't just waiting on a format change to try something new . No reputubale provider advertises there just because . It's a " Bat signal " as I like to call it . Some look for daily availability and some clients can't be contacted so they check it to see when you are in town and call from their desk . Like you aware I'm sure , if you screen then there shouldn't be an issue . If I was a client I would be more attracted to a ad board that required a few hoops to jump through to post rather than a free for all .Different strokes for different folks though , that's the beauty of this business
It is UNSAFE. Please stay here with us at warm and fuzzy TER, where we all work to keep each other out of jail. MANY of the stings that have happened over the last few years sprouted from BP encounters. In fact, I'm pretty sure the police are sad that the adult section was taken down, because it made things so easy for them.
