The charges have been reduced from felonies to misdemeanors. Prosecutors are asking for a ten month sentence.
Why the hell did she try and operate out of a small, pretentious town like Kennebunkport?
Boston is a hop, skip and a jump away!
So she's going to teach Zumba to the wives and charge the husband's for sex??
I love the irony, but the stupidity is inexcusable. (is that spelled right??)
IMO!!
They are two different towns. Kennebunk is where she had her studio.
Kennebunkport is where the Bushs' have their summah cottage.
Two distinct places. Kennebunkport is the small pretentious place, not Zumbaville.

Kennebunk had a "massage parlor" that operated for a decade there and was very well know for its extracurricular activities so she was only stupid when she got caught. She was doing the same thing sans the video recording that every girl on the board does as her customers were hobbiest like us. She got caught period no time for second guessing.

It's great that LE is out there pursuing sex trafficking, which I think it’s safe to say is a bad thing, but this situation is nothing like that. This sort of thing will follow her the rest of her life, which is a shame. In a better world there would be a differentiation between real crimes and stuff like this. If her actions must be illegal, a citation along the lines of a traffic ticket would be a lot more reasonable.
Especially in that new law that classifies all prostitution as "Human Trafficking"..
I can't help but think that she was asking for trouble given her high-profile approach. I know ladies who have escorted for years, live very well and manage to remain under the radar or at least relatively so. The way she chose to conduct her business put her where she is right now. Realistically escorting will probably never be legalized or decriminalized but, with a little caution, it's pretty easy to get away with it...
Sad...but a reminder of the risk we all take in this game. Hope things work out for her, if she gets time I hope she ends up in a minimum security and can get out with good behavior after 3 months or something...God bless her.
It's a real shame because she's really hot, sexy, and looks like she enjoyed seeing clients. Just saying.
Had she not recorded clients without their knowledge, operated out of her place of business, and posted videos of herself online, I doubt this would have happened. She was a risk to the hobby because she was reckless, and her actions, and those of Mark Strong, have just provided fodder for the puritanical elements out there.
I'm sure I speak for a lot of guys when I say that could have easily been me on that list if she advertised in Boston. This situation has hurt both sides of the hobby because guys are going to be less likely to divulge personal info for screening after this. It's just one more example of how some loose cannon can be reckless with your info.

There was more than just the prostitution charges involved Bob. She was also being charged with welfare fraud, tax evasion, and theft by deception. Along with the 10 months, she'll owe 57K to the system.
Considering what she was up against, she really had no other choice. It could have ended a lot worse for her.
I agree with BostonGuy that she was careless and stupid though. Sets us all back.
She did, under Lydia 186002.
I do agree, if that was her in the NEw England area I def could've potentially ended up on that list too....as sad as it sounds unfortantely her being caught while setting everyone back a year (at least) it def could've been worse if it kept going for longer and then she got caught. Hopefully she's able to move to Canada or something and start over her life...
1. A trial would have been all over TV.
2. Saves the state money and she saves on legal fees.
3. No felony conviction.
4. Most likely will not serve full sentence. Likely out in six months.
If the deal satisfied Federal tax charges, she is fortunate to have them reduced to a misdemeanor. Restitution payments and rebuilding her life after the '10 months' will be difficult.

State Court deals with the criminal side of offenses. Her sentencing only pertains to the criminal charges under Maine code, not federal tax issues.
The IRS/Dept. of Treasury deals with federal tax issues. She likely wont hear from IRS unless she has real estate and/or reachable significant assets, or if perhaps the IRS want the favorable publicity, this being tax season. Internal Revenue has to justify their time & effort with tax revenue. It is not automatic that theIRS assesses someone in a public case like this, even though clearly she didn't report all the income in the unlikely event that she filed tax returns.

Do not count the Feds out yet. This is a state charge and ruling not the Feds. The IRS can still go after her for the taxes, etc. She has violated some sort of Federal laws and could wind up in Federal court. I kind of doubt it but she could. If I was one of the 150 plus guys I would be worried as to where the videos go and who gets to keep them etc. Strong may sell them who knows!
Jail may suit her after all she is bi and loves it. Saw a few of her videos online.
her male counteraprt gets 30 days....he was the one running the plates to get the identiies of the male customers and keeping the records. and he was watching the videos. if they did not keep such records then no tax evasion or other charges...he was the main reason she got the longer sentence and he got off with a slap. live and marriage likely down but no real jail time. not sure what either were thinking...
guess part of the problem is they got cocky (no pun intended). All those detailed receipts, transactions, and posting of videos taken without permission was basically soaking the matches in gasoline. Hopefully this never happens again to anyone......pour out a little liquor for them.
