You expect absolute privacy, which I provide (one gent per location only) yet some of you will email endlessly prior to appointments about what you want (toys, oils, details blah, blah).

I have dumped a total of 4 prospective appointments this week for being less than discreet.

You have reviews to read, so you don't have to ask a million questions and there is no need to ask for specifics from a lady you have never met.  I don’t mind some basic requests or detailed requests from gentlemen I have met, but if you are contacting me for the first time I don’t want to answer specifics.

If we dump you all of a sudden you get upset?

We have real lives and do not have time to play pen pal and chat explicit on the phone.  I personally give 110% to my Outcall and Incall friends during the appointment.  I am liberal with my time so you have plenty of time to explore.  How much longer to some of you need to try to prolong an appointment?

In this day and age some of you need to smarten up.

If I see gentlemen over 40 ONLY, I cannot imagine what other ladies have to deal with.  The kids (20-30 crowd) used to drive me really nuts and now I have some of you older gentlemen acting like kids.  Save that for behind closed doors!

Sorry but I need to vent and I'm personally tired of hearing about many of you gents worrying about your privacy.   It’s not all about you-especially if you want a quality situation.  I am not a revolving door and expect to be treated like a lady outside the bedroom.  (I am only a wild fantasy slut when I’m alone with you).

Remember, discretion goes both ways.

So why post your rant on TER? Are you blaming us?
Why don't you target the source?
Are you advertising on CL and BP too?

As far as the "kids", you knew they only wanted to bust your chops. I hope your over 40 rule prevents them from calling.

It's pretty clear that Kate knows who her target market is, knows how she wants to do business and doesn't seem concerned about the phone not ringing.  Why all the comments from the peanut gallery about a post that clearly doesn't concern any of you? Or does it?

First off she comes out all the time defending the ladies on the board, heaven forbid us guys say ANYTHING bad about the ladies!!! Then she runs to the board to CONSTANTLY bash the guys, according to her we are stupid, morons, idiots, children.... I for one am tired of looking at her posts here mocking the men on this board. Kate, why don't you take a nice long vacation, maybe somewhere along the way you'll be able to pull your head out of your ass!!!

Maybe some of the 40+ guys aren't used to engaging in arguably illegal activity. As a result, they aren't used to the sort of discretion required.

But don't feel bad, that is why they are called hobbyists. They haven't wandered around reading the "black bag owner's manual" and practicing their clandestine tradecraft.

But that's why you are the professional. If you are having a big problem with this, you should provide basic instructions on discretion in email for your potential clients on your website.

Funny, with all the folks running around talking about "discretion" I have yet to see a provider using GnuPG of PGP encryption for email; and the overwhelming majority of them host their websites in places where practically everything sent to them from a web form can get captured without their knowledge.

I seriously doubt more than 10% of them even possess, much less know how to use, SERIOUSLY encrypted file systems or full real file erasure.

What's your PGP public key, Carnal? Clients probably shouldn't book with providers who insist on forcing clients to communicate in plaintext over publicly accessible channels. So you should post that on your website.

This hobby has a long way to go to even enter the modern age in terms of data security.

As fascinating as all of that sounds you are making the issue much more complicated than it actually is.  Standard channels of email communication are perfectly fine as long as no incriminating information is requested or exchanged.  Any guy who needs training in common sense belongs right where he is going to wind up in most cases. On a provider's ignore list.

I dont understand why everyone gets upset and defensive. All she asked was to be more private for our and her own good.Therer is a reason for ladies to set these rules and if you cant understand it thats pretty sad,When i put my bike in a bike show there is a sign that says DO NOT TOUCH.What happens someone touches it,Why because us as humans can be ignorant.Just follow the rules and they are not hard to follw and life will be good.

Since some of you are obviously ignorant - I do not post ads very often because I don’t need to.  This endeavor is very part time for me.  I have only listed on TER, Eros and one other board.  Any ads that have cropped up on other boards have not been posted by me, nor have I paid for them (including Cityvibe).  I sometimes post on Eros because I love my Outcall gents as they synch well with my schedule.

And yes, there are men who do very stupid things.  This issue is not unique to me, but ALL women complain at one time or another.

My experience is that the men that contact me break down as follows:

85% awesome
15% can go away

Thanks to the wonderful gentlemen who shed some light on the situation we experience from the provider side.   We are much more than just sluts waiting to service men.  There are many intelligent women with more going for them than the world’s oldest profession.  Many of us have a high libido and the benefits are obvious.  We have ‘fun’ and the additional ‘help’ allows us to achieve goals that enhance our lives and those we love.  Guys who know me are familiar with my many endeavors and what I have been able to accomplish due to their generosity.   There is no need to make contact with any lady, established or not using vulgar words or spewing details of your desires.  Check her reviews and figure out if she is for you, but don’t scare her away and then get upset that she will not see you.  Pony up, and once you know her she may be open to requests and naughty talk.

For the guy that thinks PGP is the be all/end all.  I spent 12 years in the IT world, and if someone wants to read your email, they can access it.  You think high level LE doesn’t have a key to PGP?  Do you understand how encryption works?   PGP is based on algorithms and if you think the average person is going to be careful with their key pairs and pass phrases, forget it.  PCP does not use pure ssl/tls protocol and is not as robust.  If there are occasional ssl breaches then how secure is PCP? Contact me offline, because I’d very much like to learn something new since I worked for the Director of Internet Security at a major corporation.  You have a false sense of security but I will say that with all the trillions of data packets floating around the Internet in a given day I would not be too concerned about email being read.

For those who don’t appreciate my offbeat sense of humor, simply skip my posts.   You are obviously addicted to reading these boards and you need a life outside of the hobby world.

Hi Carnal,

I agree with you generally that plaintext is fine so long as people send nothing incriminating -- which is your general point to start with and with which I generally agree.

However, as the professional in the relationship, it is up to you to make sure your clients (non-professionals) are educated as to what should/shouldn't be sent. By and large, I doubt that your clients are typically experience in communications regarding arguably illegal activities. So it is up to the professional to instruct.

Like you, I like to believe that with terrorists trying to kill us, foreign governments trying to hack the DoD, kiddie porn and more -- law enforcement can find something better to do than keep an eye on your part-time enterprise. However, you can never be sure as prioritization has never been a government strong suit.

As to SSL/PGP/GnuPG -- while there are similarities, there are also big differences.

Standard 128-bit SSL using certificates can be decrypted in real-time. But even sans that ability, it gets automatically decrypted at the server end and can be read there. Most servers are configured with the password built right into the private cert so they can be rebooted non-interactively. Anyone with a warrant (or just a curious sysadmin) can see what is going on right there.

PGP, specifically in the form of GnuPG, has no known back doors. It can use 4096-bit encryption that, sans private key, would take years for even the NSA to bust. Certainly, they wouldn't invest such resources against your sort of bailiwick.

However, it has weaknesses. The two biggest are plaintext versions of a message on either end; and carelessly keeping the private key on the same computer as the data. Theoretically, without the pass phrase, the private key is useless; but some cryptologists tell me this isn't so.

The plaintext versions can be dealt with through secure erasure and strongly encrypted file systems.

Human nature is to go for low-hanging fruit. In most jurisdictions, prostitution is a misdemeanor. Using strongly encrypted files systems, secure erasure and 4096-bit GnuPG; you erect enough barriers that your computer is useless for purposes of resources dedicated to prosecuting such a charge.

So I'm not disagreeing with you, just pointing out that things can be better.

If you REALLY want me to consult with you on this sort of thing; my rates are reasonable. Remember, no matter how much you know, there is always another perspective.

I asked you to connect with me offline.

1) I strongly believe the low hanging fruit are those pulling in big bucks and not paying their taxes.  I have no concerns there.

2) I don't do anything illegal, do you?

3) Maybe you should offer up a deal to agencies and high volume situations by working as a security consultant. Please don't continue to make the public paranoid-reminds me of seeing a sign for lightbulbs right before Y2K (If the electricity is going off, why would one need to stock up on lightbulbs for W2k?  Brilliant marketing!)  ;)

Guys, just use your big head and not your little one and you'll end up having a lot more fun.

Camille, come on.  How many guys start out fine and then email and call again and again prior to meeting?  I happened to have several of these types of gentlemen last week, and while I tried to nicely explain I am very busy and unable to talk about specifics-the emails and the emails and calls just kept coming.  Then the explicit text messages.  I had to cut some loose.

I still have to 'train' some of the 85%, so the reason for my post is to remind guys to think about the way they approach women. (If the Prez can use 'stupid', so can I!)

You certainly cannot tell me you haven't had your share. ;)  It gets old trying to be nice to timewasters and clueless gents when you'd rather be spending your time with worthwhile gents having fun.  I guess this is why ladies have people who book and screen their appointments.
I've thought of doing this worry about the privacy and I like being more in control of who I'm going to meet.

I accepted two gentlemen back since I posted because they apologized and are outcalls for later in the month of August, but the two who wanted me to do an incall with them this week are gone.  I am not going to put my name on a place and be skeptical about who is coming to visit. (Gut feeling)

I have had some weird experiences over the years.  The guy who arrived drunk, the guy who used the phone at the check in desk to call my room, guys who wait in the lobby, the ones who insist following you to your car, etc.

I'm a really nice lady and treat gentlemen extremely well and sometimes I think I'm just too nice.

My theory on some of this is that because the hobby has become more public there are more newbie’s that don't understand the protocol.  They think we are just virtual streetwalkers (even these ladies deserve respect) and that they can do as they wish.  The press doesn't exactly present us as real people.  They make it appear that we are waiting in the hotel room with a computer for the next and the next..

The other element is there may be more unemployed gentlemen with too much time on their hands.

I know I come across very crude and that makes ladies cringe, but I have to say I'm disappointed that with all the complaints ladies have nobody hopped in.  I guess everyone is walking on eggshells because of the economy and nobody wants to publically rock the boat.

I don't know how to educate these guys but I do know I have to get off to class.  It's finals week and I hope one of my nice friends will XXXX my brains out to celebrate!

Have a great week.

Kate

Dear C.C.:

For someone who could be considered an overweight tub of lard, I am so tired of your postings complaining and attacking people.  You are arguably selling yourself on the Internet, and then you complain that one in six of the people who contact you is "weird."  I've got news for you darling; if you were being set up on dates by good friends, the percentage would be higher than that.

With regard to indiscretion, I have been biting my tongue during this discussion.  I have been the victim of numerous emails from providers (yes, providers...females...) where everyone's full names and email addresses, with related organizations, have been revealed.  The emails in question represent communications far dopier than anything you write about; the emails usually say something like: "OMG. I am sooooo looking forward to getting together with all you guys.  $250 for the hour.  I will be in Boston all weekend and can't wait to play..." etc. etc. etc.

These fucking idiots are still on TER, still working, and the potential damage they have caused and can cause trumps anyone who happens to ask you a question in a private email.

Stop venting your rage here.  It's just fucking annoying, especially when it's misplaced.

By the way, C.C., I see you promised not to respond to any more messages on this thread.  We'll see if you are good for your word.
