Seafood: Summer Shack (there are several locations) one of which is in Boston couple of blocks from Newbury street or Island Creek Oyster Bar @ Kenmore Sqr.

Shopping: Newbury st. $$$ but fun.

View & food: Top of the hop @ Prudential - wow. 1 block from Newbury st. During the day better. $$$ food but there is an $ accessible fixed-price brunch and lunch specials.  If I were to suggest one thing then that would be it.

Museums: Isabella Stewart Gardner (ISG) if you like classical art but Institute of Contemporary Art (ICA) if you're more into modern. ISG has nice cafe at the courtyard where they often play classical music. ICA also has great modern looking building, amazing view and nice cafe downstairs as well as auditorium with the schedule which is worth checking out

Thanks to all the lads and ladies who responded to my last post about Boston Hotels :)

I am going to be there with very limited free time. Can you tell me your must see/do places ?

I have never been before and need to do a whistle stop tour. If you could suggest one thing, what would it be?

I am a big lover of seafood btw :)

Thanking you muchly !

Go to the Isabella Gardner museum.

History: Faneueil Hall. Go upstairs. They did stuff like sign the declaration of independence there.

Seafood: Legal Seafood. There are several in town, but go to the waterfront (near the Aquarium).

Italian: Bricco. in the North End. Bring $$$

Shopping: Newbury St. Bring $$$$

Virgins: Hmmm, hard to find!

Bars: Everywhere. Nice place to troll: MOOO, 15 Beacon St. Boston. Excellent menu too, great cognac collection.

Have fun.

Almost all spoken like a true tourist with no basis to reality. It's Faneuil Hall, only one "e", and the Declaration of Independence was signed in Philadelphia's Independence Hall. Legal, while good, isn't the best for service or quality. Try any one of the national chain restaurants who prepare their fish the same as Legal. When in the North End stay away from big brightly lit places, and opt for smaller, more refined eateries, Mamma Maria's is best.

Excellent proofreading and fact-checking JD! Sorry about that extra "e."  And despite my historical faux pas, I still suggest that you go upstairs at Faneuil Hall--there is plenty of rich history there. (Downstairs is just touristy crap.)

As for seafood, if you scratch on Legal (still a classic Boston venue) there is a link below.

Have fun.

The last time i was in Boston a client took me to the tea party ship. i had learned about the Boston Tea party in school so it was really great to see it in person. Boston is a fun city.  I also really enjoyed the science museum
