they are annoying to sift through and I prefer direct email

In my experience, it seems that the contact forms on provider websites are rarely used correctly (or at all), yet many times the instructions say to fill out the contact form for an initial meeting.  More often than not, I will fill out a contact form and never hear back from the provider.  After I wait a few days, I will then email her and ask her if she received my info through the contact form, and I usually get a response which basically indicates that she never got it.  At that point I've either moved on to the next provider on my list,or, if I want to see the girl badly enough, I just email her with all my pertinent info.

My question is:  Why have clients use the contact form if it's not working correctly or you're not even using it anyway?  What is other people's experience with the contact forms?

Needless to say this a major annoyance for the client and a missed opportunity for the provider.

Where is the info going then, if not to the provider?

I know that when we first started using our contact form, the emails from it would end up in our spam box. But once we marked it as not being spam, it worked properly and they always go to the inbox now. Perhaps that is the issue some providers are having, or perhaps they simply don't check their email very often.
I can say that we make extensive use of our contact form, and it makes things much easier for us (and we assume for our clients as well).

Under NO circumstance will I ever fill out an online contact form. Period!

I know this has cost me the opportunity to see a few highly rated ladies over the years, but I just feel the security of personal info in the hobby world is scary enough. Why increase the odds of it falling into the wrong hands?

When I started in this hobby, oh so many years ago, provider references were the norm. To get started you had to give up some personal info here and there. I didn't like it then, but it was a necessary evil. Since that time I have spent many hours (and $$$'s) building up a good reputation with providers. If those references along with my reveiw and posting history aren't good enough, I will ultimately move on.

There are plenty of other providers out there to choose from and enough hobbist to go around for those that want all that personal info.

Just my $.02

I see what info they are requesting and go straight to email. If their ISP or hosting site handles the forms, you don't know how reliable they are or how careful they are with it.

And if the hosting site does something stupid (let's just say bad business practices), even if it's totally unrelated to the person whose form you were using, that could still mean a legal or illegal breach of ALL of the info on their servers, including your info.

I am supposing that major email providers (gmail, yahoo, aol, etc.) are subject to tighter regulatory control and less likely to attract random LE subpoenas. Maybe a security expert can post something reassuring.

I didn't even mention the security aspect, which is probably one of the most important reasons to not fill out the forms.  Good point!

Just one more reason not to use them.
