Even with Torre Yanks would not have been in post season. Too many reasons to describe why there are not there for the first time in 14 years yet the main reason---THEY ARE OLD too many 30+ players. Lots of lockers will be cleaned out and not set up in the new park. Retool and find youth, ie. Devil Dogs. How can you not respect what they have done, cheapest payroll and they will be a force for many years.

Brilliant, how long did it take you to think of that ? Think with your head next time, shall I bring up the head-to-head record over the past year, how about 5 years. Sweep, OK. Have a great weekend I'm out. Funny thing man, is I could have told you months again that the team wouldn't make the playoff. Honestly, its for the best, make the playoffs and you think its not broken. Guess what, the ship is broke, time to rebuild it.

...mentioned it a couple of weeks ago if not longer, that you could get your forks out, because they were done.....GO SOX!!!!

Will be looking forward to 09 to see the new ball park, that is always exciting, even though it is the arch rival.

Would love to see new park man,  but I think the prices are going to be crazy. Good thing is I have two tix for rainout game vs. Mets so I do get to go to at least one game. Be sure to visit Sin City on way back to Beantown.

In 2007 the Yankees payroll topped out at $218.3 million a record high, not to mention they have had the highest payroll in MLB the past 9 years!! The 2007 Red Sox had a payroll of $155.4 million and at the bottom for 07 was Tampa Bay at $33.1 million. Tell us, did $218.3 million get the Yanks a World Series victory in 07???

Me thinks you are in need of a refresher course in reading. Have I acknowledged that the Yankees are hurts literally and figuratively, uh yes. Point made is that with the CHEAPEST payroll props to Tampa. NOW DO YOU GET IT. Yankees will have highest payroll for many coming years, WHY what teams is worth the most money ? Yes the Yankees and what team has not spend the money wisely in the last 10 years, the Yankees. Read next time before you write.

Hey, The Red Sox are in the playoffs.   The Yankees are not.   Currently the Boston teams are doing quite well right now.  Let us enjoy our good times, because as we know around Boston, it will not last.

But whatever you mention about head to head records, etc.   I still remember in 2004 where our team came back from a previously undo-able defecit of games.

So this year, let the Red Sox fans scream a holler, because in a few years (as it always seems to happen), we will be in the dumpster.
