Hmmmmmm, looks to me like there is not much difference between the posting places any longer.

Both have a variety of personalities.
Both have humor.
Both have schedules.
Best of all both seem to have something tearing at the seams.

Thirsty, I am sure that you peek at the other board from time to time.  In fact, I bet that I will find a post by you there also.  I am sure that you know exactly what kind of gentleman Huboo is from reading his posts and I would think that you would be happy to have him post on 'your' board.  Do NOT involve the retired MG.  This does not concern him.  If you think that it should then call him and ask him what he thinks of Huboo.  I have a feeling that you find that MG holds Huboo in the highest of regards.

Loarthan had a very unfortunate experience.  I would like to think that he told us about it to warn us.  You may call it venting if you will.  It is a shame that you readily admit that you would have deleted the posy had he chose to include the lady's name.  To me that seems like a cover-up.  Don't pick sides my friend (unless of course there is something in it for you that we don't know about (wink)).  

Yes, maybe this never should have made it to the board as a private forum between Loarthan and Lady X may have been more appropriate.  At worst, they should be allowed to solve their differences in front of a jury of their peers - HERE!  You may be moderator but you do not have the right to delete what very well might be beneficial and INFORMATIVE posts.  

It is a shame also to see what is supposed to be an open-minded moderator slam the 'back channel'.  EVERYONE in some way or another is part of one.  The ladies are, the gents are and I am sure even YOU are Thirsty.  The exchange of information through channels other than a board such as this are as old as the hobby itself.  There is nothing wrong with it as long as the intention remains to simply share information.  Relationships are built through the back channel.  Ladies talk to each other (duh, V-E-R-I-F-I-C-A-T-I-O-N would be one example).  Gents talk to gents in other cites.  AND, now this may be a shock to you but moderators also talk to ladies through the back channel.  Afterall, isn't that how moderators are able to post schedules for ladies?  It all revoles around respect and relationships.  The only question you need to ask yourself is which relationship(s) do you value most and where does your respect lie?

Perhaps participating as a hobbyist more (both here AND on the newbie board) instead of as a moderator will remind you that we use these boards to gleen information to make an educated decision.
