I became moderator of this board. In the first 7 days, there were a total of 16 messages posted. I was getting lonely so I made my first attempt to attract some company.

Seriously, TER Boston Discussion can be a valuable resource for hobbyist. We're starting to see a few more ISO postings. I encourage all to post whatever info you have to offer. I'm not as active in the hobby as some. Your help is appreciated!

Nobody has been able to shut me up since. ;)

I want to thank Staff and Girl Next Door for giving me this opportunity and for putting up with me. ;) I want to thank everyone here for their part in making the TER Boston community grow into what it has become. I especially want to thank the people who often posted what was on their mind without thinking it through. ;) I loved approving posts like that and then waiting for the s**t to hit the fan. ;) What impressed me most about this group was that I rarely had to step in. If somebody posted something stupid or otherwise acted like a jerk, the community always set the offender straight.

Although I won’t be posting on TER anymore, if I end up somewhere else, I’m sure we’ll find each other. In the meantime, I invite you to contact me if you must ;) … just kidding! @

Over the last couple of years, I’ve helped a number of ladies learn how to use sites such as TER, TBD and Blue Pleasures to market their services more effectively. For instance, did you know that you can post an ad more than once a week while still following TER’s Provider Posting Guidelines? Here is one of my favorite tools. “Take a day off next week (just don’t tell anybody about it ;) and your phone will ring even more!” I still plan to be available in this regard. It’s just that I no longer do volunteer work. ;) I think everyone knows how I feel about “exchange of services” arrangements, so that is not an option either. Ladies, if you’re having trouble making your phone ring or if you’d like to go from $200.00 per hour to $300.00 per hour, let’s talk.

Now back to our regularly scheduled programming… ;)

A final piece of advice since I love being everybody’s “best friend” ;)

For the ladies…

it’s better to retire too early that to retire too late and NEVER, NEVER, NEVER, NEVER, NEVER, negotiate set rates!

For the gents…

keep your perspective…don’t invest too much of your resources or yourself in the hobby. In the end, what matters most is what you have at home!

I wanted to come up with an original tag line, but MG’s closing says it best…

Have fun!

Jim

I just clicked on Thirsty for a few minutes before we go out on our patrol. It has been a pleasure knowing you sir. It is good people like you that make America a great country. You have been very kind to me and my men.
In memory of you Thisty we got together and spray painted the following on a wall near our living quarters. It says the following.
"LONG LIVE THIRSTY THE TER MAN"

I am sure that right about now there is some Irai looking at it and scratching his head thinking who the hell is Thisty!!!!
Take care brother you will be missed but not fogotten.

Hey Thirsty,

I'm sorry to see you go but I'm sure better things are a head for you with a lot less aggrevation.  You will, however, be missed.

Can you please email me directly when you get a free moment?

Thanks,
Rose

As everyone have expressed, you are going to be missed :(((( But, we all do hope that you will never be a stranger on TER :))))) Also, you have helped many of us ladies here, and we really thank you for that!!! :)

Love,

Mel :)

It's hard to believe now how dead the TER Boston board must have been when you took over as moderator.  The phenomenal growth that has happened since is a testimony to the quality of the job you've done as moderator.  The only disservice I can imagine you've done is leave big shoes to fill...

I wish you all the best with your future pursuits, wherever they may take you!

Have fun, MG

My way of saying thanks! I think it would be great if we could meet you in person and thank you in person.  That is unless you want to preserve your anonymity.

Thirsy,

Over the last 2 years You have become a trusted friend and I am going to miss you very much. I wish you all the luck in the world. You are truly a wonderful, kind and caring person and I am going to miss you.

Jill:)
