Depending on the email service and how much info is in the logs of the accounts of how the email was accessed. To be safe from recent events, your better off just burning the email/ phone accounts.
In light of some recent rumors, the question I have is can an email address be traced back to a cell phone? If so how do you work around this if the phone isn't a burner?
Make sure to set privacy settings so your information won't be available. Most reputable background check sites will delete reverse lookup information when they get updates.
Clear the cache on your phone's email app. Even better, remove the app & re-install it. (If you use a burner app, do the same.) Go into the phone companies website and nose around to see what info they keep online as far as messages, emails, etc. Some phone providers have automatic cloud backups. Delete the bad stuff. (A friend of my got busted in a civilian affair by the web backup.)
I'm not sure if they can trace an email on the recipient's server back to your phone. My guess is that it would be tough, but nothing is impossible. My feeling is that they'll be looking for the easier fish and may not drill that deep.
