I heard about the RI strip joints, decided to check them out. But need some advice from old timers here, thanks in advance.

1. which are the ones that I need to check out, ie good quality and service. I am going down there by myself, so I care about safety, dont want the pimp beat the shit out of me either.

2. is it still legal down there for the things we want to do? I thought they passed some law to ban it?

You won't have to worry about a pimp hitting on you at any of the clubs. They did change the law so what you are asking for is not legal.  Best advice is to be careful, Providence is a small city and you can sample all of the clubs in a short time, then decide for yourself.

Things may no longer be legal, but they are still very available. You can get propositioned at Cheaters within 10 minutes of arriving. $10 for entry to the nude room, $35 for private booth ticket, then anywhere from $100 to $200 for a close encounter.  The Cadillac Lounge has private rooms for minimum $150, and you can work things out with the dancers as you wish. Both clubs have a wide range of women, wider (more low-end) at Cheaters than the Caddy, but there are several that will make you quite happy at both locations.
