Could someone please suggest where to go for regular screening.I don't suspect I have anything,I was just looking for a good place to go on a regular basis without the clinician shaking the finger at me and giving me a lecture.North of Boston would be perfect, but Boston is ok too.

Yes Ladies and Gent's get those throat culture's......Sometime's there are NO symptom's!

Here are a couple place's to check.

Find a local planned parenthood in your community they do anonymous testing (fee is different in different areas but never as expensive as a private doctor.)

Boston Medical Center 617-414-4081 STD's and 617-414-4290 for HIV testing.........Testing is anonymous. Certain disease's like Syphillis you must give information. sliding scale fee
(This is a great place and they are very nice!)

The Sexually disease clinic in the Infectuous Disease Dept. at Mass. General. The founder's building on the 8th floor.
It's walk-in and Aonymous....Although Confidential (meaning they need your name) Syphillis testing is done as well.  617-726-2748
Donations are required but not necessary, but Please be kind.

If anyone need's any help in there area contact me and I will try to hook you up. Please get reg. check up's especially the ladies......Also private doctors are great but sometimes you can be more honest going to a clinic. Whatever your comfort level just be honest so they can take the appropriate tests! And Please give a healthy donation we want to support these program's!!!

Speaking of throat cultures. Everyone should make sure things are covered up with all activities. There are most definitely things that can be transmitted orally including hiv even though it is a difficult way to get it.All you would need for that is blood to mucus membrane. Bleeding gums+.....could=hiv. Be careful!

I know of a very good confidential testing center located north of Boston.  It is totally anonymous and free to boot!

It's great to hear people are going to their regular Docs be tested.  Personally I would not want my testing schedule to become part of my medical record.  One cannot be sure this information would not be provided to future employers or insurance companies (for health or life insurance).  I take confidentiality seriously for myself as well as others.

If you would like this information just e-mail me at [email protected]
