I recently purchased a used ipod touch off of ebay...after registering it, the gal who sold it to me hacked my apple account and charged a new phone for herself to the tune of $741.00...I called apple and the man asked if I knew so and so...the name rang a bell but I didn't know how...then it dawned on me...I went to ebay and looked up my won items and requested the sellers info...low and behold it is the same name apple gave me...so just beware...and even though apple SEEMS to be a secure site...get itunes cards DO NOT put your debit/credit card on there :(

You should report it to the police and fax the police report to ebay or ask ebay to give you seller's credit card or paypal account information.

Hopefully you are corrct quixote. A few years back I got taken on Ebay for 2k (yes, I thought I was getting a deal) and ebay was about as useful as tits on a bull. Absolutely did nothing. I even went through the international internet fraud and although they were helpful and took all my info they said the chances of EVER finding the clowns was slim to none.

Ebay has gotten much better in the last couple of years in helping weeding out the scammers. By using paypal you also get more protection from fraud. I get all my Celtic and Patriot tickets there and never had a problem. I agree with Quixote, I would get the police involved.

I called all the right people including the bank, Apple and of course the police...all very simple...but how the hell do I get in touch with ebay?!?!?!?!? anyway, the card has been canceled and it will NOT happen again.
