I’ve lost a loved one on 03/02/2009. My daughter was killed right in front of me.She was hit by a driver who was intoxicated and driving very recklessly. My daughter was 28 when she died and for a while I sat around wishing for something horrible to happen to the driver of the vehicle who hit my daughter as I felt he deserved it but I started feeling guilty so I stopped doing it.If you wish bad things to happen to someone else bad things WILL start to happen to you.You reap what you sow.

Careful you must be when wishing bad things upon others, such feelings is a path to the dark side…clouded your future is.

There is no comparison.  I am truly sorry for your loss.  I can only imagine how heavy your heart must be.  But being rude to me is not cool nor is it appreciated.  Do what you gotta do.  I can take it.  I do not care if you don't agree with me.

This COWARD deliberately killed 4 innocent people and injured over 183 more!!!  He DESTROYED lives.  So yeah...I want him to suffer.  These families are suffering!  The bible says an eye for an eye.  I say a leg for a leg!!  Let him live the rest of HIS LIFE without legs!!!

So as CLUELESS as you think I am, I disagree.  Also I can agree to disagree.  You have a right to your opinion.  I don't need to attack you on this board the way you did me and threaten your future with gloom and doom.  Give me a break already.   Furthermore let's consider your argument and comments about my "path to the dark side."  My dark feelings are simply HIS KARMA coming back on him for the horrible atrocities he has done.  Think about that.

Resting easy for my future is bright!!
PEACE!! Betty

You are a real piece of work.  People are celebrating because they are happy and proud this COWARD has been captured!  Many of them lived in fear of these two cowards all week long!  Many of them lost friends and family members.  Even more have family and friends whose lives have been altered forever.  There are people in Watertown who were evacuated from their homes for over 24 hours due to this coward.

Now they are celebrating and that is not okay with you?!  Too damned bad!  It's akin to saying someone at a funeral should not smile or laugh!  I guess we should allow this fucking coward to take away all of our joy too?!!  Right?!

After reading this and your other response below, my opinion of you is that YOU are full of such darkness and gloom that you cannot enjoy the joys in life.  How dare you chastise anyone for celebrating!!!  Many people have suffered and are still suffering!  They will suffer for many more years to come.  There will be many more moments of silence.  For your information, a moment of joy does not erase our suffering.  Regardless of what you think, we are allowed to feel joy and happiness!!

There is a lot of sadness in Boston right now.  I am very happy Boston can rejoice in the capture of the coward who caused so much pain and sadness.  Celebrate like crazy Boston!!! You deserve this moment of joy during such a sorrowful time!!

My thoughts, prayers, and good wishes are with you.  So is my elation and happiness!!

Boston is grieving for the dead and injured in a very real way. There is a make-shift memorial at the finish line that saw hundreds of visitors last night after the capture and thousands since the bombings last Monday.  There have been memorial services, including an interfaith service that the president attended.  Not a single public service officer who has spoken on camera has done it without remembering the dead and wounded.

On Thursday night the bombers killed a police officer and were chased to Watertown. There was a gunfight a few blocks from where I grew up. One was killed, the other got away. On Friday most of the Boston area was put in lock-down with citizens asked not to leave their homes for most of the day. Finally, last night, the second bomber was captured.

The last week in this city has been filled with tension. After the capture there was a necessary release of pent-up emotion all over the city.
While I would not choose to show my relief by running through the streets and cheering I can certainly understand why some would.  I don't feel the need to condemn them for it.  They are not dancing on the graves of the dead, they are celebrating the living.

No one here in Boston has forgotten the poor souls who were killed or the nearly 200 that were injured and healing.

People are celebrating because they feel safe again, their families are safe, and their children are safe. They don't have to hide from a public venue in fear that their loved ones maybe killed.  People have every right to feel happy and publicly display that. They should also celebrate The bravery of the police who kept them safe and protected during this horrible time. The police who never get the accolades they deserve. How dare you put a damper on such a wonderful display of emotion.

QUESTION?

Why did we allow these scumbags into the country when we were warned by Russia two years ago?

Now you can chant USA in the streets of Boston...Don't get me wrong I love this country but what you hear behind the lines makes me wonder. I made a comment about WHY would anyone cheer and you came across like a cat in the corner?
Your reason? Or are you clueless that the should not be cheer but anger that this happened?
It was a laxt of security that the finish line where the most people are at that these scumbags got through and it was like Boston could not have an incident like this ever because people are nice, which they are, as I said I love Boston downtown but to cheer for negligence, I'll pass.

So take your leg for leg up yours..Don't direct at me but an ounce of prevention is a pound of cure..

And for your information. Even if this is a fuck board!! It is still at discussion board.. That is what it says at the top.
And I hope you are never near a tragedy like this and have to go through what Boston did this past week. So if people are cheering USA, USA!! That is understandable. Especially if you are an American!!

I return you all to your regularly scheduled programming..

I realize that an apology means "case closed" for the person delivering it but I would say it doesn't make the original comments any less ignorant or offensive.

I've been pointedly avoiding reading this board for the past several days because I couldn't take it- my emotions have overwhelmed me and there has been a lump in my throat since last Monday.
I felt ready to read it today and I'm completely aghast at the complete lack of sensitivity.
For those of us in the lockdown areas the manhunt was frightening and the subsequent the capture of this 19 year old boy represented a very real sense of relief.

I read international news sources every few days or so and especially during major events.
I've been aware of some of the world's perception of the Bostonian reaction to the capture of the living suspect:  "inappropriate" "boisterous" "stupid" "over-the-top" "undignified" etc.
Whether the way that we culturally behave and express ourselves is "right" or "wrong" is completely immaterial- non-Americans, anti-Americans and self-hating Americans don't have to understand us.  We just are as we are.

Americans weren't in the streets dancing on the dead's graves- and we collectively cooperated with the requests of law enforcement.  Our way of life was interrupted.  These streets we walk, work, play and live on were empty because we were being told that someone was running around with bombs and guns in their backpack.  When we were told the threat was over, HELL YA people were in the streets.  There was just a profound sense of joy and relief.

Last week was absolutely horrible-
Four dead, nearly two hundred hurt and maimed for life in Boston.
In Texas fourteen dead, two hundred hurt, homes & businesses destroyed (and dear God I hope they get  the support and donations they need considering how dreadfully overshadowed that tragedy was by the exploitative, sensational mass media this past week).

I would suggest that in the future you consider where you are and to whom you are speaking.  The Politics & Religion board - or better yet - your Facebook page is the place for politicizing, criticizing the CIA & FBI for their lapses / negligence in National Security, not TER where members generally come as a place of respite and relief, particularly on regional boards where locals are affected by major events.

Everyone has an opinion following events like these and everyone thinks they're smarter and more capable than government professionals.  Everyone wants to educate the next on Chechnyan radicalism, American immigration policies and the implications of not Mirandicizing a terrorist today.
The dialogue is important...
But I would say that here, in this place, comfort and camaraderie amongst hobbyists and providers who've been under a great deal of stress is more important.

Sincerely,
Ally Moore (Adopted Bostonian)

The Texas tragedy is no less important as far as loss of human life. And they deserve our support as well to help heal.
However that was an ACCIDENT. and accidents happen by the thousands every day all over the world. Is it tragic.. absolutely , do we feel for the many victims and their families and the community in
Texas .. YES.   This was not an ACCIDENT  this was a planned act of terror. BIG difference.

Even you can understand that. So please don't compare the two.

And yes  WE ARE BOSTON STRONG!!   Like it or not..

Please save the weak attempt at insults and use your brain power function for something else if you are capable.
If you can't take civilized comments in response to your opinions or articulate those opinions in a manner that isn't unnecessarily offensive to the intended audience don't post on discussion boards.

Your choice to insult other providers and clients based on their profession or review numbers despite being an active *ahem* "prolific" provider is....interesting to say the least...

....But hey, every hooker isn't in the game because she's a rocket scientist.

There you are posting more of the same- getting nasty personal again! Hmmmmm...kinda makes your apology null and void.

So you don't like it when someone who doesn't know you "labels" you. But that's what you've been doing from the get go. If you knew anything about Ally, you would know you won't find her in anything less than a 4 star location.

Ally did not make it personal, nor did she take pot shots at you. YOU did though!

And you hurl PERSONAL insults at Betty about her age.

WOW, you have really shown a side of you that surprises me. Really bad behavior on your part, and it's now obvious your apology was a crock!

Excellent comments Ally, and very on point.

Your observations of the emotions and temperament of the people who lived front and center, in the middle of the events of last week really struck a cord with me.  The shock and sense of anger and resolve that permeated the greater Boston area over the last 7 days, and especially on Thursday and Friday is something no one who wasn't here can ever understand.

When a major metropolitan area, a City of nearly a million people is in lock down, the streets vacant from dawn until dusk on Friday during school vacation week, is an event I could not have ever comprehended before last week.   For people half way across the country to criticize and armchair quarterback and question the reactions of Bostonian is the height of arrogance and ignorance.

There is a disturbing sense of self-righteousness and total lack of understanding and comprehension in the comments of this Rachelina, who seeks attention and acts like a bully.  When confronted about her questionable grasp of reality there was no self-reflection but rather a guttural lapse into name calling and using the number of reviews someone has as an indicator of intelligence, competence or emotional understanding?  Hers is nothing more than childish schoolyard behavior.

Like others have pointed out, once you apologize its time to STFU and begin the process of understanding why you had to apologize in the first place.  Unless of course yours wasn't an apology at all as others have suggested.

If you haven’t figured it out yet, you wouldn’t be very welcome here in Boston.  This is a City that showed its strength and compassion along with its character in ways that made me feel proud to be from Massachusetts but also an American.    I don’t think we’d have the interest or patience for someone as shallow and hopelessly devoid of real understanding of what went down here last week.

I have 16 reviews and all that makes me is someone with 16 reviews.  Period

These are the people that took over hospitals, elementary schools and theater performances.

People who have kidnapped and tortured ethnic Russians.

People who are supported by radical Muslim organizations.
