Several Excellent Local Agencies

I have to respectfully disagree.  We are actually spoiled for choice, and there are some great ladies in town this week.  

I'm not sure which agencies you called, but Boston International, The Bella Donna and Room Service are three of the best in the area.  Glamour Girls also has some serious talent and, although not local, Aphrodite Companions regularly send us beautiful ladies.  Apologies to other agencies not mentioned, but these are the ones with whom I have the most experience.

As others have mentioned, leaving a message will not work.  You have to keep calling until you reach a live human being.  Also, personally, I did not find the screening process painful, and did not have to produce multiple provider references.

Although we have some amazing indies too, please don't write the local agencies off quite so easily.

was in town and wanted t have some fun.  Called 2 agencies, and neither return my call.  One I talked live in person and left a msg for the other.  I must be doing something wrong, so the biz in b-town must be really good that they don't need new clients.

As far as leaving messages goes that's pointless. Agencies don't call back, at least not any agency that I've dealt with.  You need to keep calling until you talk to a human being.  You didn't say what the issue was with the agency that you did talk to...

Not sure who you called but there are several good agencies and many great indies here in Boston who are always looking for new business...

You are right about leaving a message, don't bother, they never call back.  One can only assume that they just delete them without ever listening.  

But as an infrequent user of the local services, I can say first hand that the local agencies are not very friendly to gentlemen that they don't already know.  If you don't have multiple ref's from local ladies, likely you will not be treated kindly by the any of the local agencies.  Personally, I don't bother with them anymore.  too much of a pain in the a$$.  I stick with the Indy's and visiting ladies, works better for me!

I am from out of town and don't have many references.  I have one reference.  Was in Orlando earlier this year and worked with an agency.  They were friendly and easy to deal with, unlike b-town.  Learned my lesson.  Next time I am in town, I am contacting Indy's.

That is the point, you have experience with the agencies, the OP does not, he was visiting from somewhere else.  

As an example, (with all due respect to Jill), Room service had a policy for more than a year that they would NOT except ANY new clients.  I have been around for a while and recently I tried to use a few of the local agencies after being inactive for awhile only to be turned away, not because I am abusive or anything like that, but because, I assume, they don't know me.  Now they can accept anybody they want, I certainly respect that, but the local agencies are not welcoming to new folks, at least not in my recent experience.  

Some of the others you mentioned are not local but send ladies to the area, they seem to be far more receptive to new clients, (ie Aphrodite for example) and I have had good experience with them.
