I think that on both sides we hear excuses. It happens that we have someone who doesn't show up and then tells us that he had a car accident, a child that suddenly became ill, or an unexpected meeting. Upon talking to one our sisters, we find out that he visited her that day because that was the day he wanted a brunette. Excuses and double booking happens on both sides.
I also agree with the person who said that this was a fantasy oriented business. There are many hobbyists that don't want acknowledge that we are human and would never want to hear that a provider is ill? or tired? or just doesn't feel like it? And there are those out there that are really cool with the truth. Unfortunately, it is hard to figure out how that hobbyist will react to the truth or an excuse until after they are told.
I remember one time a provider posted an apology here for missing some appointments because her child was sick. A hobbyist replied. While he was not negative or disrespectful, his comments focused on the fact that hearing about her child spoiled the fantasy. There are some guys out there who want to believe that every provider is 18-25, in college and was a virgin until last week. ![]()
Oh well, it's all about the fantasy.

Not! lol
I am actually comfortable at being 35.
College: I completed college in my early 20's. Been there and done that
Virgin: Never again (thank god!) lol
But, I still believe that we all do have a kid in every single one of us, that just needs to get out and "play"
So, Party On people (for life is too damn short to be miserable, moody, and a royal "be-yatch")!
Luv,
Mel

I agree with you, but i am the type of person that does not appreciate the lies. Listen, you are in a customer service industry, and some of the things you talk about happens when you do this type of work. You depend on customers and some times their needs must come first. As a lawyer, I set up appointments on a regular basis, but then get a last minute phone call. No, I cant fill in the appointment and perhaps I can charge a fee, but might lose that client in the future. I just look at it as the cost of doing business. Moreover, it would be impossible to collect anyway. Remember the customer is always right. That is the rule I live by. As far as being sick and ect.. I KNOW for a fact that this is not the usual case. Providers have told me that they had last minute oppurtunities to make more money or have a nice paid vacation, so they decide not to honor their prior commitments. I treat each provider with class and dignity. I look at them as professionals providing a valuable service. Yes, perhaps I take it too seriously, but this is the way I am. Furthermore, I see some of these ladies asking for 400, then provide the worse service you can ask for. I can not tell you how many times I see 10s and 9s from reviews, arrive and wonder what these guys are thinking. This is why I do not write reviews. I would give out 7s for a woman that was worth my 300, but then it appears that she was not a fun time. Sorry now I am just all over the place. I better stop.
yes in a perfect world that is the way it would be be where eveyone gets what they want. but i am sorry but the customer can not alway be right. in business yes u want to make them think they are right but in all reality they are not. dealing with the public day in and day out it is not right for them to be right cause i would be out of business. but we need to remember that we are all human, and while basicly the same we may react differently to situations, one can only excpect. and since we are human we tend to favor different likes and dislikes so it would be would be wrong (IMO) to expect every one to be as you are. it would also be very boring thank god we are all different. i also think that a review should be taken for what it is and not the holy bible. if somebody gives someone a 10 it maybe that their expectations were met or exceeded or what their view of a good time is. also since we are human sometimes we click with certain types. if we all got along and loved each other in a perfect world we would not need lawyers or divorce. we are in this great land and we are free to choose. i think a provider lying and cancelling an appointment to go on vacation is not a usual thing. sometimes things come up and when things come up changes must be made for the good of both parties. for me i would not want to be with a provider whose mind was somewhere else. i would want it to be a good experience for the both of us. if for whatever her reason she needed to cancel, yes i would be disappointed. but a bigger disappointment would be to go ahead with it and have a lousy time. just my opinion!
You make some great points. Thanks for taking the time to respond.
Just do what you think is right? If you're more comfortable telling the truth rather than little white lies, then the clients you keep will be the ones who prefer the truth. If you're more comfortable telling little white lies, then you'll keep the guys who prefer fantasy to reality. You can't really keep both can you?
Have fun, MG
MG, thank you for being a respectful provider, I find that many are wonderful and respectful but still don't necessarily see us as regular people. In utopia perhaps, we could survive on the appointments that we could instantly ascertain whether or not they can handle the truth or not. Or keep only the hobbyists that can handle the truth. Or vice versa. If this was a comfort thing, there would be no problem, but unfortunately, it is subsistance for many of us. We have to be chameleons with no troubles or worries.
If I say, "I am sick today, I can't meet with you", and I have said this, I get an instant reaction...FEAR. They think that just because I have a cold, I am dying of a serious incurable, deadly disease that will remain nameless.
If I say, "I am not in the mood today." The fantasy lovers cannot understand why I would not want to provide 24-7 or that I don't enjoy it. Which is very far from the truth.
We are human, we have doctor's appointments, dentist appointments, car breaking down, etc. Many times I already have a appointment booked, and another hobbyist wants the same time slot, but telling them the truth is the kiss of death. There are many hobbyists that do not want to acknowledge that we see other people.
You may have read great reviews about someone mediocre but remember, beauty is in the eye of the beholder. Sometimes a provider or a hobbyist can have an off day, where the vibe just isn't right between two people. Reviews are subjective.
In this business, if the customer was always right, there would be many of us in the hospital, in the poorhouse or dead. So as a lawyer, your customers may be right, it is easier to replace them if they don't come back, there will be others waiting. As an atty. you can hand out business cards on the street corner, advertise on a billboard or on TV to gain more clients. We, as you know cannot.
With us, new customers mean new risk, keeping clients is always an interest of course. We can only advertise so much. I know the agencies go into the phone book but the independants would really be putting themselves into jeopardy. We have limited number of people that visit the boards and sites that may or may not call us.
I have honored 98% of my visits, the remaining 2% were unavoidable circumstances that we couldn't meet. I am honest about my appearance but I have had people say that I am not small enough and some that have said that I am not big enough, to many, I am just right. I can tell someone what I look like until the cows come home, they will have their own fantasies until they meet with me...and then they have new ones ![]()
One of the points I was trying to make is that lying goes both ways in this business. Thank you, for being one of the people on the up and up.
Thanks for such a well thought out reply. I just think that if providers managed their schedules better, some of these problems would not pop up. As far as reviews are concerned, I guess their is also those posting fake reviews, which throws things off. Anyway, enough from me. I will crawl back into my hole and keep quiet for another year.
Stay Safe
Whoops, that last message was actually to defender, not Mature gentleman.
