Now thats a place I have not heard mentioned in years ,i did't think it was still in busniess....does anyone know the History, was it owned by Royal Sauna?..I remember going to Mandala back in the early 80's and it was kind of a straight massage with a hand once they knew you,but the set up was different from how hand jobs places are now ,it was professional medical office type of setting ,the woman were mostly lated 20's early 30's age kinda artsy or collage grad types I never tried to get more that a hand it seamed like why ask...But then the change I think around mid 90's Royal in Cambridge closed and surprise surprise the girls from Royal most of them ended up at Mandala  and the desk staff too, then many reg Mandala Girls left..and services changed to wear topless and nude hand became adv, now i understand that bbbj 's are adv by some girls..,but at this point in time their was much cooler places with young sexy girls doing nude hand stuff... But I always wondered about the history of mandala ...any information,opinions or discussion welcome by any OLDTIME Massage Guys

You pretty much know it, they were closed in the early 90's when the owner hired under cover le to work for them.To sum it up, it is an out dated place with not much to offer. Some how it stays open

They were first located at another location in Newton near Newton Corner way back in the late 70's when I first came upon them.  The present Walnut Street location goes back to around 1980.

A woman named Linda still owns the place and she started out by giving massages, but she has just been the proprietor for many years now.  In fact, the original name of the place was Linda's.

I usually have very good experiences there including a good to excellent massage, but there are a lot of differnt women there and it's strictly YMMV.

Linda tries to keep the sex down to the obligatory hand job, but where money tempts, anything is possible.

My advice, if you go there, is to ask for either Shirley or Patrice, but just expect very good massages and the HJ, plus wonderful personalities.  You may get more if they get to know you.  In any case, it worked for me.

There is a masseuse who goes back to the very beginning named Kit, and she gives a wonderful massage and release, but I found out that she's actually a he.  A bit of the crying game for me when I learned it.

I'd hate to see this place ever close.  It has a lot of very sentimental attachments for me.  I must have met over 12 different massseuses there and got very intimate with about six of them.

Its big advantage is that it's a reliable fixed *place* you can go, as opposed to the varying hotels you would be sent to by any agency. For some, this would be a convenient suburban location.

The big disadvantage, it seems to me, is that by the time you pay their fee plus the appropriate tip, you're paying as much or more for just a hand job (and only then if you hit the right girl - not all ladies there offer even that) as you'd pay for full service with Room Service.  For $125 or $200 with RS, you could have an incomparably better half hour or hour.

What's more, using one hotel room via an agency strikes me as much safer.  Newton is not Malden or Revere - it doesn't strike me as a community that will put up with on-site sex (however limited) for long.  Eventually, both masseuses and customers are going to get caught in an on-site sting, with names all over the papers. (It's happened at Mandela before, when Scott Harshbarger was attorney general.) It's much harder to police two people alone by themselves in a hotel room.

Many years ago, I used to go to Mandela occasionally, when receiving even a hand job outside of marriage seemed naughty and exciting (to someone of my old generation).  Now, I've moved way beyond that, and, except for a sentimental visit, I can't see any reason why anyone would want to go there, instead of pursuing a "more for the money" reliable FS alternative.

Despite a couple of busts in the past, the place has a long track record in Newton.  I think that Linda has an agreement with the cops to allow hand releases and nothing else, but occasionally, if you know a girl well enough, they will accomodate you with more.  (Obviously for a larger tip.)  I don't think FS would be allowed, however.

Pam was tall, lanky with short cropped black hair.  I saw her for a while and we got quite involved, but then she was gone.

The best at massage was a light skinned black woman named Olga, but I think she is long gone.
