Alleged Web "escort' arrested in Shrewsbury:

Shrewsbury's alleged first Internet prostitute to be caught was arrested late last month after she accepted a $300 hourly fee from an undercover police officer at her apartment.

xxxxxxx age 32, of xxxxxxx, is charged with prostitution, payment for sex. A Westboro District Court judge released her on personal recognizance Feb. 27, and she is scheduled to have a pretrial hearing April 1.

Her lawyer, confirmed that her client had pleaded not guilty but did not want to comment further on the case.

According to Shrewsbury police, an individual told Detective Lt. James J. Hurley and the management of xxxxxx last month that he or she had recognized a woman known as xxxxxxx on Escorts.com as a resident. XXXXXXX management later contacted Lt. Hurley to say that the photo appeared to be one of its tenants.

Police visited the Web site and found that clients had given her four reviews within the past 10 days and that she was working from home as a "full-service' escort, which according to the Web site's glossary meant that she would have sex so long as the client used a condom, according to the police report.

Lt. Hurley went online to arrange a meeting between XXXXX and an undercover officer. According to the e-mail dialogue included in the police report, the woman wrote, "Are you a cop?' When Lt. Hurley said no, she wrote back to bring a condom.

An undercover police officer met and arrested xxxxxxxx Feb. 26. Police with search warrants seized her computer, cell phone, marijuana, $900 in cash, vibrators, videotapes, photos, a machete and a whip, according to the police report.

No one else was arrested in connection with the case, Lt. Hurley said.

Well, so much for the theory that if you ask a cop if they are one they have to tell you.

This article reminds me that the ladies should not keep large amounts of cash around.  Police can confiscate cash if they suspect it was used in a crime (this goes for prostitution or any number of other illegal activities), and it is often VERY difficult to get this money back.

Every day Americans lose more rights, but very few people seem to notice.
