It seems like the out of town providers  are giving us discount rates, while are local providers are NOT and some which  I will not name have the audacity to raise their rates.Last I time I checked I though we were in a recession.....

Just so you know, I am not taking your post personally but I want you to remember that it's almost like buying a car.  All styles, colors, and features, as well as QUALITY.  Back to the car thing, this is not about an oil change at Jiffy Lube for some men. (example: 1/2 appt required vs. 4 hour appt)  Mind you, I am not picking on any people here, as it has been made clear (I learned my lesson!) that 1/2 is sometimes perfect for that lunchtime quickie, but for a birthday celebration (ok cluster f..) 4 hours may be more appropriate.

I'm not going to beat up the "traveling issue" again (like I did on the "other" board).

Honestly, do you think the majority of us locals see the same quantity of guys as someone who travels?  I will be the first to admit when I visit (as in traveling escapades) NYC, I see more gents than I do on home turf.  Either way I have supplies and a room to pay for, but I still come out ahead traveling (otherwise, why would any lady do it?)

So, do the math.  More men even at less $$ = more $$$!

And oh by the way, I recently raised my rates and I am glad I did.  The PITA people (the bargain hunters who want to pay for 1 hour but stay for 4) went away as did the kids.  The types of guys I see now want a total experience, as in a mini vacation.  I could do hit and runs and drop my rate by 50%.  Remember, often times the level of service requires the increase in order to cover the overhead.  (I'm not being a snotty bitch and I am no better than anyone else, I just offer something different)

Client just left and I am finishing up a glass of some fine champagne, which was included in the overhead of the "date" (which by the way is still pretty resonable for the 4 hours we spent together!).  In my particular case, the "net" I receive is the same as before because I have stepped up the level of service.  I mention this to address the statement you made about some of us having the nerve to raise our rates.  Often it's not due to greed.

Most Boston area ladies provide a great service for the style of service they have chosen to provide.  I don't think most should even consider dropping their rates.

Good post Kate......I too agree(Smile). Can't speak for all local ladies but talking back and forth with several of them they do not see alot of gentlemen each day......sometimes only a couple a WEEK is the norm.

Totally agree when girls travel they want to have success and make it worth their trip so they tend to see more gentlemen (sometimes 6 to 12 a day) . I don't blame them touring can be very stressful & expensive if everything don't work out to as planned and they want to walk away making friends happy and making some money.

I believe almost all the local ladies are at a fair market price right now and most haven't changed their price in a couple years but there level of service has stayed consistent or better.  Each and everyone has a different way of entertaining friends plus there is a huge selection in sizes, colors, styles, local or touring so pick the one that is right for you in every way  and Enjoy!!!!!

as a hobbyist, i feel ridiculous defending higher prices; still, a couple of points should be made:

a travelling girl can offer reduced rates to entice customers and hopefully increase her numbers while on tour without polluting her own market...when she gets back home, she can continue to charge her regular rate without fear of complaint (hey, how come it was only $X last week?). and when she's travelling, i assume she expects to see as many clients as she can handle (she's not flying across the country to watch HBO) but why would a local girl want to reduce her rates and thereby have to see twice as many clients to make the same money? unless, i suppose, business is just bad and a reduction might help. i have noticed a few girls who have offered summer rates, discounts before 4pm, etc, etc. not being wealthy, i'd love to see lower rates... or better yet, as i read on a previous thread, a little extended time for the one hour rate. but the provider has to set her price based on what she needs, what she has to offer, and what the local market is - and if i can't afford it, i just don't call.

Also, it is about working smart.  Why not have a great quality hot date experience with a guy that you enjoy being with an extended time rather than having to see several guys during that same time period?  It's a win-win situation.  Sure, you may make $ + change less in say a 4 hour period but I see it as reducing the risk of exposure to multiple partners and burn out.  Also, you actually know people's names and their preferences from play patterns to beverages.  It's fun!  (I say when it ain't fun, it ain't worth doing).

I found that after the last 2 times in NYC (I was there on real biz too) I was a little fried.  Luckily my friends did not notice, but now I understand I have to resist those extra appointments and stick to only those I booked before my arrival.

I'm off topic a bit, but I'm excited that a guy actually understands.  Perhaps TER men are more intelligent?  :)
