Truth in advertising is your best bet, regardless of where you advertise. I noticed that one hobbyist complained about your photos making you appear younger and thinner.
If you are so consious about your weight, just hit the gym and work off that flabby body of yours.

He Deb, you've already posted your life story on the General Discussion board.  You need to decide if this line of work is right for you...and then act on that decision.

I'm not here to insult you but, honestly, if you can't handle frank discussion you shouldn't be posting on an open forum.  I'm not as familiar with your posting history as others who are responding here seem to be but I can tell yuo this: The answers that you are looking for will come from within, not from polling anonymous strangers.  Spilling your guts on the boards, especially your local board will not help your disposition or your business.  

Over-sharing in public is not an attractive trait in a business that thrives on discretion.  First, find a friend or two that you can talk to about this stuff in private.  Second, learn to accept the realities of the hobby and of life-some folks are good , some folks are assholes.  You have to learn to deal with it all and develop a thick skin if you want to survive and earn as an escort.

Few things cause hobbyists to get upset more than a provider that has lied to lure them into her presence. They make a choice to see that provider and not see a provider that may have been honest but didn't come off as hot as the provider that lied.

Some hobbyists take lying calmly and simply don't go back to see the provider. Others take out their other frustrations in life and say crude things to the provider. A very small number may resort to violence of some form.

The best policy is honesty. There are hobbyists that like and prefer every type of body form and age range. Advertise who you are, show that in pictures. You will find the men that show up to meet you being happy and turned on in your presence.

Anyway, you got some very sound advice in getting a website and being honest within it. There is someone for everyone, if you represent yourself as you are, those that are for you will flock to you. If you are not happy with who you are, be happy that you have the perfect career to change at any point in any way you see fit. It it is broke fix it, too easy drill sgt. Go to the gym and make that a part of the content on your web-blog, people will be proud of you and follow it as well. If you are referring to expectations, I would say that I am mistrustful for the most part with girls who advertise on Backpage.  Though I have found several diamonds in the rough on Backpage.

I will say just because someone got a review in 2010.  It doesnt mean she has been on ter that long.  The girl started out on Craigslist I believe and lets face it, Ter and craigslist are totally different.  There are rules here, girls screen here, you need a website and TER logo to post ad here.

I think girls who show their pics are gonna get more feedback, because often times the girls that won't show pics aren't the ones you wanna see if they do show pics.  That's been my experience in over two decades doing this.  Whether that happens on Eros, CL, or an agency doesn't matter.  If a girl won't show her pics, chances are very good that she isn't that attractive.

There are so many ways to make the pic look anonymous so if you're worried about people recognizing you, that's really a non-issue.

Here's some advise from an experienced companion. Although, I'm not located in the Boston area, I'm in Orlando, I'd assume this is sound advice for any location.

If you're serious about being a companion, it's important to be comfortable in your own skin. In this world of companionship, there's gentlemen looking for a variety of women. Some like their women young and tight, while others prefer a more mature companion that have a few battle scars from birthing etc. No matter your ethnicity, body shape and size, age, hair color and length etc....there are men searching for YOUR type.

With that being said, it's important not to put all of your eggs in one basket. Advertise.....advertise everywhere! Not everyone looks on Eros, TER, Backpage, CL etc. Therefore, it's important to advertise in various locations. Even myself, being a well established and reputable companion, I advertise on Backpage and EROS. As a matter of fact, when I look at my web tracking, my number one website hits are from Backpage...with TER being the runner up.

However, your number ONE focus right now should be a website. Even if you don't have the extra cash, there are free sites available to help get you started. I know, I started out right where you are today....NEW and set up a free website until I was established and had enough monies to create a beautiful site for myself. This should be your number one priority. Gentlemen want to see a website, with current photos, consideration etc.

In addition, you need reviews! Reviews will be your bread and butter in this industry and not just any reviews will do. You need great reviews....exceptional reviews. This is the area that you should be the hardest on yourself. In my opinion, if the gentlemen I see didn't at minimum forget that it was a service, then I didn't meet my own expectations for myself. It doesn't matter if your appearance scores are average, what really matters is your performance.

When you receive negative messages, just delete them and move on. Don't dwell on them, it simply not worth it.

One more point you may want to consider when advertising is creativity. In this harsh economy, it's important to stand out from all of the other advertisements in your area. Therefore, you MUST be creative with your advertising. I realize not everyone has a creative side....but girl, if you want to have guys knocking on your doorstep...you have to be creative. Read magazines, brochures whatever you have to....this should help to inspire your advertising. Below is an advertisement that I've used in the past.
