...in my days there..i would date at Sorrelino, Teatro, The Federalist...yum! and a fun beer at the Pub Hub for a Sam's is a good thing!
I'm staying down by the theater district this month and wondering what there is for new restaurants that either have: 1. sexy atmosphere and easy to get in to for a dinner date... 2. a bar seating for when i am solo I have a fine dining culinary background so creative components and ideally easy to get to from Theater district/China town /Financial district is great. Ladies..would love to hear from you in regards to this especially when entertaining clients. (I have friends flying up from DC to meet me..otherwise my Boston gents usually know where to go..)
Boston Globe, Feb 9, 2019: Why are so many Boston restaurants closing? . When Buzzy's Roast Beef closed down, I knew it was all over for the Boston dining out scene. http://www.chowhound.com/post/buzzys-true-story-316551 . (Seriously, lots of fancy, famous places as well as just plain old (Durgin Park) good places are having trouble making it in the current markets.)
Boston food scene has always struggled for an identity. Trying to be trendy hasn’t really worked, rents too expensive, not enough turns. And classic is not how a lot of people eat anymore. Having said that, around fidi/ China town, with interesting food or decent scene I like sho jo, Yvonne’s, Boston chop, ruku, Serafina. Pm. E if u want more info.
You’ll have to show me some on the new hot spots when I come back. I expect Boston will have changed somewhat since 2012....😊

Troque on South has the best wine list in the city at not-so ridiculous prices. They also have a bar. Zyglomates is right next door for a good wine bar.
Re: I'm a fan of Dooley's. Any better Irish bar than that I might miss this weekend?
You're a month too late for Doyle's: http://www.usatoday.com/story/news/nation/2019/11/17/boston-irish-pub-doyles-cafe-closing-changing-city/2516547001/ "An iconic Boston Irish pub closes after 137 years. Residents fear for the city's soul" "... For nearly 140 years, spanning three centuries, Doyle's Cafe held down the corner at Washington and Williams streets — a true neighborhood bar. But longevity couldn't save the onetime rough joint turned community gathering place from the pressures of a red-hot real estate market and climbing operating costs. ..." ;-(
