"My own private Ted" That's not too outrageous a sentiment when your alternatives are Barbara Boxer and Dianne Feinstein.
FYI the single cause he "championed most fiercely" the past few years, aside from mindless partisanship ("When President Nixon proposed a plan for universal coverage that would have delighted Democrats in later years, Kennedy, who long backed a government plan, led the opposition..." http://www.newsweek.com/id/213702/page/3 ),
I'm not from MA. In fact, I have only just learned enough about Boston to stumble along my own random, imminently insignificant freedom trail - but I know that I mourn Ted Kennedy as if he were a patriarch from my own state...regardless of what that state may be.
I hope his causes are championed even more fiercely...

And he certainly was a driving force for immediate citizenship for illegals (as well as rambling on for hours on the senate floor a few years ago how relaxing the immigration laws wouldn't change any of the percentages of ethic backgrounds of the US population).
Blub.....blub.... blub .... (as other oldsmobile slowly sinks into the water)
There's no such thing as R.I.P. where Uncle Teddy's going.I must respectfully say that I am surprised any woman would support this man considering the way he treated women throughout his life. Mary Jo being the first one that comes to mind, then Joan and the countless others he crapped on. It's a shame the media only portrays one side of the man, and it's also a slap in the face to the Kopechne family and the memory of their Beautiful Daughter. For years I have been asking Ted Kennedy's supporters what would they think of the man if Mary jo was their daughter or loved one. It's a question that none of them are interested in answering.
I respectfully disagree with you. He was NOT a hobbyist. He (along with the rest of the clan and the boiler room boys) were abusers of women (and everyone else that came in contact with their spider web).
There are far too many documented incidents where the Kennedy's have used people for their own purposes and dumped them in the dust when they were finished - whether it was related to politics or their "private" lives and they enough $'s and "pull" to ruin anyone that tried to right any of their wrongs.
I am very proud to own a Harley Davidson as it was the chosen vehicle to lead Mr Kennedy on his journey back through our fine city of Boston, thanks Ted for the great memories.
Needlessly spend gizillons of our tax dollars pedalling influence.
Amazing thing is if you kill someone, and can get away with it, early in your career everyone forgets about the multiple other incidences like running around shitfaced with no pants on!!!!
