Basically, Prostitution was legal in RI as look as solicitation occurred in doors on private property. RI Cops had tried to stop AMP's a few years ago but they where legal under the law. Outrage died down about them, until the Craig's list killer came about.

The Legislation quickly corrected the law making those activities illegal.

The RI state police have been cracking down on providers, leaving them a bit gun shy

I was in RI last month and had a hard time finding a provider willing to take new clients.

I have used an agency there before but talking to the corrdinator he remembered me but said he did not think any of his providers would be willing to meet with me. He said there was some new legislation passed recently that effected the massage business and that ladies could not add new clients.

I did finally meet with an independent provider and she said that her business has fallen off since the new laws went into effect. She seemed to think it was a means to crackdown on under age ladies at massage parlors. I have no idea what the laws are can anyone explain the situation in RI.

Prostitution is no longer legal in the state of RI as the legislature passed a new law closing the loophole that has existed since the 70's. Most of the AMPS and Spas down there have lost a lot of girls and are also unwilling to take on new clients for fear of being busted.
