But if you read the attached thread, you would see that the specific question asked is not addressed or answered in it.

The answer to the question is: pre-pandemic, almost all XO dates were in Boston proper.  Starting late last year, though, they have moved almost all dates outside of downtown Boston -- I think to Newton and Cambridge most often.  The hotels they generally use are pretty basic, or as basic as you get in these parts.

I'm sure the inner suburbs work for some, but for me the move outside of the city has been one of a number of sad consequences of COVID-19.  From Nov. 2019 through Oct. 2020 I had more than a dozen dates with XO companions, despite the pandemic.  From Nov. 2020 through this month I have had one -- partly a reflection of challenges they seem to have had attracting Russian and Eastern European women to come here during the pandemic, but mostly a reflection of the fact that I can't go to where they are.
