So i decided to lay down and take a nap because i was not feeling too good. I had a 430 appointment scheduled but i called to cancel. It was ok with him. Anyway...I just woke up to a knock at my back door. I go to the door and say "who is it" rsponse:"Anthony".  Again I say "who?" He says "I called you." "is this Crystal?" I said "NO!!!" because #1 its not my real name #2 I didnt have any appointments scheduled. #3 I had no idea who this was.  It was not the name of the 430 app. either. So I hear him leave and I look out the window. It was a car that I have not seen before. Anytime I have an appointment I watch what kind of car they come in. But I may have been wrong, it could have been a regulars car. But why would someone just show up like this (even if he is a regular?)I am freaking out right now.

The problems that can come from working out of your house, appt., condo etc. are infinite. Think -- LE, STALKERS, PSYCHOS, HOBBYIST'S JEALOUS SPOUSES/S.Os,  and the list goes ON.............

Cris, I know you are new to this--

if I can give you TWO pieces of sdvice, they are to SCREEN like Hell, and NEVER work from your residence.  NEVER EVER.

There is a well known provider on this board that has gotten lucky for WAY too long working from home.  It's professional suicide, and could be detrimental in dozens of ways.

thanks for the advice but i feel the opposite. i have had more trouble in hotels. i usually feel really comfortable in my own home. i do understand your points though.
i did make it through the night ok. but still have not figured out who it was.

Speaking from a customer's perspective I have to say that in over 20 years of hobbying the only two times I have ever felt threatened or come close to getting into trouble with LE were on occasions when I visited providers in their private residences.

I humbly submit that if you are having problems in hotels you are simply not doing something right. Weather it be screening properly, exercising proper discretion or even simply choosing the right type of property to begin with.

I wish you nothing but the best but I think you are really rolling the dice with your own personal safety.  Best of luck to you and stay safe.

I worked for an agency that screened well and still got busted using an apartment. Luckily I was not there that day. The fact is its easy for a nosey neighbor to complain about traffic(thinking its drugs)  then they can watch you for weeks building a case. Dont think you can look out for LE...they hide like crazy. At least in hotels you are moving around constantly. Being naive and too confident in this Biz will get you in big trouble.
In addition to this advice I would stick to posting things like this on the P.O. board...it may scare potential clients away knowing you have a weirdo lurking around your incall. I would think about removing/editing it before too many more people read it if you are able to

I found out who it was. It happened to be someone I have seen a few times. He thought it would be ok if he stopped by because I didnt answer my phone. He is a little on the slow side. (and I am not trying to offend anyone) But I do believe he some sort of mental illness. I politely explained that this was not acceptable. He proomisesd it would not happen again.
